Both President Trump and Mitch McConnell both said they support no-exceptions background checks - though lack of a background check never would have prevented any mass shooting that has happened. We know the Democratic House will pass it.

I'm going to a local gun show and huge flea market tomorrow and against on Thursday. Non FFL private sale gun sellers are going to be selling off their firearms CHEAP - maybe! Most those will be on the 2 flea markets, not the gun show. If cheap enough, I might be buying dozens of them. I could later sell them online, though would have to ship each to an FFL to do a background check on the purchaser.

OR the panic could cause prices to skyrocket - and if so I'll probably private sale off some of mine for the profit. Mostly it would be retired standard issue Colt 45acp as I have lots of those and actually carry a Remington or Desert Eagle, not Colt for a 45 when I carry a 45. Maybe sell off a few ex standard issue military rifles too if people will pay enough in the panic.

I definitely will buy some "80% AR15 and AR10" lowers just to hang on to them in case the BAFT changes their stance on those being "non guns" - and that is the ONLY part of an AR considered a gun if it is 100% finished out - which is incredibly easy to do.

I WILL BREAK NO LAWS in any of this. I do NOT break gun laws - ever, period.

I suspect over the next week, 5 to 10 MILLION AR style rifles will be sold, 2 to 3 times as many high capacity magazines, plus another 5 to 10 million semi-auto handguns. It may be the highest gun sales week in USA history.

Private gun sales will cease to be legal VERY FAST. If you want to buy any firearm by private sale, do it NOW. If you want to do a private sale of any firearm you have or trade it for anything, DO IT NOW.

I am sure anti-2nd amendment trash will tell you that you are paranoid and no one is going to ban private sales without background checks even though that is what they been calling for.

If federal registration is required, private gun sales could easily be outlawed.

Boy you guys are terrified of a background check

Not the background check the extra hassle and expense.

If i want to give my kids some of my guns, it's bull**** that I should have to pay a minimum of 25.00 per child.

Oh no....the horror

does seem kind of odd. i had to surrender bodily fluids and a submit to a criminal background check / full consumer history report just to get a job. i wouldn't be too put off if i had to have a background check to get a gun. i'm sort of at the first stage of considering getting one again at some point since i enjoy target shooting. i have a 0.22 LR, but it's now thirty years old, and i've already had an old gun explode (backfire is a more accurate description) on me when i was a kid. i was nearly deaf for two days, and it's fortunate that i wasn't more seriously injured.

This is why the pro-2nd amendment crowd will never support firearm registration. Its none of your ****ing business what firearms I do or don't own.

Here in California private sales must go through a licensed dealer. Has been that way for years.

I worked for a church and had to submit to similar stuff and an FBI background check because the damn priests can't keep their hands off little kids.

Yes it is:

You should, as a minimum, provide the state with the manufacture, model, date of manufacture, serial number and caliber.

That way if a firearm is captured during a crime, we know who to blame

The state already knows what car(s) you have - why are you so scared of it knowing what guns?

Do you really see no benefit in the state having a comprehensive date base of all guns in the USA?
What are the repercussions to you?

Even if it were to become law it isn't enforceable. There is absolutely nothing preventing me from buying my neighbor's firearms from him directly, without a background check. People will just conduct their firearm sales in person. They can't force anyone to buy only from FFL holders exclusively, and they can't stop anyone from selling their firearms - without any background checks.

There's nothing to stop you buying heroin from a neighbor...until you're caught.

Register all guns. Minimum sentence for anyone found with an un-registered gun: 5 years and a fine.

California is also notorious for violating the Second Amendment.

So are certain Southern states guilty of unconstitutional laws or practices - just different parts of the Constitution.

Yes it is:

NO it is not your business how I choose to exercise my constitutional rights. Its not your business how I choose to exercise any of my rights.

When people like openly admit to use registration to make it easier for the state to be outlaw private sales or to confiscate firearms no there is no benifiti to having a comprehensive database. It is not the job of the innocent to make the job of law enforcement much easier.

But it is the job of government.

Again not their business how one chooses to exercise their constitutional rights.so its not their job.

It absolutely is. All rights have restrictions. Those restrictions are made by politicians elected by the people and enforced thru the government

Is this like when pro-gun people panicked and went nuts during Obama Admin, causing the highest sales of guns? :lamo THANKS OBAMA!!!

THe bill of rights is a restriction on government. So its absurd to make the claim they can make restrictions on the bill of rights.

Boy you guys are terrified of a background check

Now, if someone could just suggest legislation that could actually prevent another El Paso or Dayton...More stringent background checks won't do it...Especially since previous stringent background checks haven't been used when in law.

They could prevent many gun deaths. Do you know how many people fail a background check every year
