Stricter gun laws tied to fewer childhood gun deaths

Wow that is incredibly racist of you. What is a non white country?

Your hood is slipping

Your own racism shows when you hold third world countries to a lower standard.

Just like this post:

If you are happy we can beat yemen and Nicaragua in gun deaths you have set the bar so low that you can easily be dismissed

I call em as I see em

I think you just like to troll, you could, you know, make a comment that is meaningful instead of trying to twist what other people say. Or just making stuff up that has nothing to do with what they said.

Then leave. To compare us to a country without rule of law or basic democratic structures is ridiculous.

How does your comparison hold up agai st Canada, all of the EU, Australia, Japan.....etc.

Have a real debate for once

This is the first time you have offered any kind of actual argument that makes any sense. To me guns are less the problem than education, poverty, population density. That's why I think it matters to include more countries that face those same problems.

Name a country bc with lax gun control and low gun deaths

Switzerland has gun laws that are fairly close to the US with lower gun deaths.

Of course that really doesn't have anything to do with what I stated. Poor education high poverty numbers and high population density are all factors in crime rates. Look at the states in the US some low crime areas have the same gun laws as high crime areas. Some states have more lax gun laws with less crime than states with more stringent laws.

I would also like to point out that after 6 pages in this thread not one person has made any suggestions as to what would help other than "stricter gun laws" as stated in the OP.

Great so let's make the laws of Switzerland the same for all the US. Agreed?

It seems only the gun control side must come up with solutions.....ever notice that?

Neh, wouldn't fly. Some of the laws require things that extremists would say are unconstitutional. I say we force Law Enforcement to actually enforce the laws that are on the books. I personally think a licensing program would be interesting depending on the details provided.

We actually have laws that if enforced properly would cut down some of the gun crime that happens. The problem (as I see it) is too much corruption and not enough education.

What do you think?

not sure if that is always true but it does seem to be a theme. I have made a few suggestions with little feedback....

Then dont bring up Switzerland. They have massive gun control.

Ok so no country with lax gun laws and low gun deaths.

How about a country with lax gun laws and low gun deaths thru great enforcement? I will even accept a large city

Name for me the large city or country your plan is working in.

this study is no surprise. guns are not like alcohol, sex, or driving. those are things more essential for human behavior and things worth doing, even if it meant breaking the law. a lot of people do not have a curiosity or instinct to shoot a gun. there are a lot more easier and safer outlets a person can do besides going to the range or hunt.

Hows that working out in Chicago?

The biggest gun control in Switzerland deals with registration. most of the laws there seem fairly in line with what we already have here. The biggest problem we would have in the US would be having to register every gun. possibly the requirement of a license. I am not sure why you are asking me about the lax gun laws and low deaths question? are you trying to infer something that you think I said again?

If you want to discuss things we could do in the US to further reduce crime I am good to go. If you want to try to trap me in something not moving that way. Make a point, don't ask leading questions

did you get mixed up in what this comment was for? I think the dual quotes is hindering your comprehension.

Wrong. You cant get a CCW in Switzerland. Almost impossible for the average citizen.

Still love those swiss laws????

The reason for asking it is. Seems like a bait question. again you seem to be inferring something I did not say. Maybe re-read the forum posts? might help you out.

I never said I loved their laws. Are you not actually reading what I am writing? or are you just trolling?

If more people die due of heart disease than any other issue in America you are not allowed to complain about any other issue at any time. Lol

Its called whataboutism

No, it's called pointing out your selfishness and/or hypocrisy. In short, you really really care about saving lives, as long as you personally don't have to sacrifice anything.

"Whataboutism" is a term that selfish hypocrites made up to deflect from being called out on their selfishness and hypocrisy.
