The majority of personal self defense usage of handguns is at a range of less than 20 feet.

While going to combat shooting ranges has merit, if the goal was to match reality the real practice should be in a house more akin to door-to-door searches military training. This also is why a short barrel shotgun or the biggest caliber you can handle is ideal for home defense.

My personal carry firearm (as I've stated, very low firepower lately) is NOT what I have ready for home defense (double barrel 12 gauge coach gun and 45acp). I also carry a 45acp in my vehicle in the event I know my low firepower CCW is not enough (ie sensing danger). Do any of you also consider your CCW gun is NOT your home defense firearm?

Heres what I use for home defense

Technically it’s a “firearm” because if it was a shotgun it would need a class 3 license

Why not install VX sprinkler and use gas masks? When someone is in your house, put gas mask on and push button.

well it would get you several felony charges, but if you are that afraid of using a gun for self defense, perhaps you should investigate the viability of such a device

That's a great idea! You should go ask around and see if you can link up with someone who will sell you a chemical weapon. You really should.

Maybe you best explain that claim since it appears to be completely irrelevant to most of us.

Then learn to fire when you are half asleep. Learn to fire in the dark when you can barely see your target. Learn your routes of egress and cover and concealment.

Hitting the target is the least of your concerns at 20 feet

That's because you have no imagination and as such there's a lot of writing that you just are not going to get. I'm not making up anything. You just have to read what I responded to, and then how I responded.

You just spew lie after lie mixed with complete nonsense. Such as "rifles are shotguns". As to imagination, I will give you the advantage there, since most of the points you come up with have to be the product of an active imagination, because they cannot find support in any factual data base.

Your anger and rage is gratifying.

Your inability to see that I, and most other pro gun advocates, are laughing at the nonsense you post, is consistent with your proclivity of constantly being wrong

Turtle, he just admitted he is trolling to get a reaction from you just for jollies.

To be a rifle, the barrel must have rifling. Shotgun barrels are smooth bore, but can have rifling which, I suppose, you could call a rifle but are sold as shotguns. Where Game & Wildlife do not allow rifles on government property for hunting, they will allow a shotgun with a rifled barrel.

Yes, thank you: you are correct and the similarities is exactly what I was talking about: looks, size, aiming etc. The trouble is, the gun nut crowd HAS to find something wrong in every post that is made by someone who doesn't drink the koolaid, so they lapse into these idiotic pedantic arguments about nothing.

Do you know what rifling is?

Yes, I know what rifling is; I was raised around guns. I was on a rifle team and have a sharp shooters medal. I don't like far right-wing liars who use the second amendment as a sales tool and sell sedition in my country.

Now, what would you like to talk about?

I don't think anybody is selling sedition. Some gun owners see gun laws as a slippery slope, ending in an Australia type situation. I know California gets more intrusive every day with gun rights. If they had no resistance, they would take everybody's guns. Well, except the bad guys. They wouldn't get those.

Pedantic is ok sans the idiotic and being about nothing. The point is to provide facts to substantiate points of view. If debate opponents still disagree, then at least there has been some amount of information given to educate each other and others. The worst is when an opponent evades providing supporting evidence, source information, links, etc. to substantiate a claim made for which the claim-maker bears the burden of proof.
