Any time I'm considering a firearm, the very first thing I do is see if Kickok45 has a video on it. He's possibly YouTube's largest firearms review channel, life NRA member, and has always been a strong supporter of the NRA.

Until today....

So whats their beef?

Always like Hickock vids. Also Ian McCullom from FW and of course Larry Vickers. Maybe the corruption scandals? I doubt he's turning his back on 2nd Amendment rights.

~ I guess something is cooking at the NRA ...

· The National Rifle Association’s annual convention was consumed by infighting on Saturday, after its president, Oliver North, was ousted by its board and its longtime chief executive, Wayne LaPierre, a week after a joint investigation by The New Yorker and The Trace exposed hundreds of millions of dollars in questionable payments to N.R.A. executives, contractors, and venders. Adding to the scrutiny of the gun-rights group, the Times reported on Saturday that the New York attorney general, Letitia James, has opened a formal investigation into the group’s financial practices, including whether it should retain its nonprofit status.

A couple of things from the video.

We are no longer going to work with the NRA in an official capacity.

There is no perfect organization.

We will be rooting for the NRA from the sidelines!

We want a strong NRA. We need a strong NRA!

The NRA has been a giant target for the anti-gun forces and now with the internal issue
that they are working through the attacks will intensify 1000%.

They will work through this issue and they will remain the true champion of our
2nd amendment. As members will all need to give the attention needed to see
that all the issues are corrected.

Hickock always reminds me of that one uncle you have who is so levelheaded.

I've always felt whatever group you belong to that you must be vigilant of the fringe members who always seek control.

On a very far side note, Hickock's hands are so huge it is a wonder they fit around some guns.

~ Yes and likely people who want to stay on YouTube and not get banned/censored will keep a distance from NRA. People can make money on YouTube - that almost always takes precedent.

Let me try to draw a parallel by first saying that, like Hickok, I too would like to see a healthy "national rifle association" and by that I mean "a healthy and capable association of gun owners".
But the CURRENT "National Rifle Association™" has gone off the rails, so it is clear to at least some that we need to REPLACE the NRA with something better.

Perhaps something less partisan, less political and more engaged with helping all Americans understand the 2A, understand responsible firearm ownership, all the good things that are associated with this very precious constitutional right.

As a liberal, I do not want to see ICE "abolished" but it clearly has gone off the rails because ICE is now a pipeline to private correctional and detention facility owners and as such none of these people want to see the immigration issue solved, because it would mean LESS inmates, which kills the profit and bottom line for these private facility owners.

I guarantee you this country NEEDS an "immigration and customs enforcement" agency, but the CURRENT one needs to be reformed, retooled and rebooted. That is the parallel that I was referring to.

If there IS a way to reform, retool and reboot the CURRENT "National Rifle Association™" then fine, let's try to do that.
But if there isn't, START OVER and create a brand new group that serves the purpose.

But please...let's let this one be nonpartisan and more focused on solutions and constructive dialogue.
To those on the Left who are anti-gunners, it will then be up to YOU to act reasonable in return.

So whats their beef?

Didn't watch the whole video, but it seems to me like they still support them, but don't feel comfortable asking viewers to join, or supporting them in an official capacity, until they get all the internal shenanigans under control.

One thing that's pretty obvious, at least as far as I watched, is that they are not saying they disagree with the NRA's external positions on any issues.

The NRA is going down in flames

He still supports the NRA, but is no longer willing to have a professional relationship.

That doesn't sound very supportive

Like me, I am very disappointed with the shenanigans taking place at the organization critical to protecting gun rights. I, too, will refrain from sending money to the NRA until they sort this out. That doesn't mean I don't support them, and their mission. I just want them re-focused on that mission. Over time they will work it out.
