CT Gov. signs new gun laws into effect today

Owning slaves was wrong. Owning canons was wrong. Politics.

Then change the constitution like was done for slavery.

Shall not be infringed

I hope others enjoyed my fine points.

The forefathers had the foresight to delineate weapons of self defense (realm of the individual) from weapons of national defense (realm of the state). The line was drawn in a way that would transcend time, arms of the militia (infantry). Those are the weapons protected. Bigger stuff (tanks, planes, nukes) are weapons of national defense.

No they were, you could buy canon for your ship, armed merchantmen, where they had as good of heavy arms as the government ships had. In many cases the militia who supplied their own arms had better arms then what the government was issuing. As I have stated before if you could afford it you could buy it, without the government having any say in the matter.

We have the highest murder rate of any first world nation.

Better?

And yet doesn't at least ONE of them allow militiamen may keep their issued personal weapon in their home? You know military issued weapons and yet they don't have the same murder or gun death rate as the US. Could be there is a cultural differences? So even if you managed to get rid of all the guns would the US murder rate still be higher?

Switzerland does not allow them to keep ammo for the guns and has very strict gun control.

Try again

Ah while the ARMY keeps it's ammunition, with an exception of few thousands troops, all army ammunition will have to be stored in central arsenals.

But prior to 2007, members of the Swiss Militia were supplied with 50 rounds of ammunition for their military weapon in a sealed ammo box that was regularly audited by the government.

Today subsidized ammunition must be used at the range under supervision and any unused ammunition must be sold back, you can buy your own non-subsidized ammunition and keep it at home.
