The general welfare clause has never been referenced in any federal gun control scheme. It is always based on the FDR commerce clause nonsense.

Most anti gun advocates arrive at their position based solely on the part that they don't like the politics of the NRA and gun rights advocates. They learn what politicians NRA support and they don't like those politicians: that was what causes many of them to start advocating for anti gun legislation. They didn't arrive at the position of supporting gun restrictions based on having a clue about guns, current gun laws, or the constitution. They just want to punish people who they don't agree with. That is why their arguments -that pretend to be based on something other than weaponizing gun control as a political tactic-are so pathetic and so lacking in logical support.

Why do you engage in the dishonest tactic of constantly repeating the same question to many people when it has already been answered many times ?

Your use of the phrase PLENARY POWER is contrary to the dictionary definition of the term and limits on power written into the structure of the US Constitution. That has been explained to you previously but yet you continue to ingredient it because you have no other argument.

The Constitution provides limits on Congressional power. Thus, your use of the term is completely wrong.

Except that it allows any law that provides for the general welfare. Which means pretty much any law. Which is the same plenary power.

NO - it does not since the Constitution limits powers. Thus any power stemming from the general welfare clause is NOT plenary power according to definition.

You are badly misusing the term and it destroys you entire argument.

So the constitution would forbid the general welfare clause from being used to restrict gun possession?
