Why do we even HAVE the right to keep and bear arms?

I believe people of color, Hispanics, minorities, African Americans especially should keep and bear arms to protect themselves from the tyranny of their former slave masters, ensure their rights are protected and enforce their right to vote in elections. Muslims must be armed and ready to defend their places of worship; Jews as well. To that end the NRA needs an inclusiveness policy - let's call it 'affirmative action'. People of color must take back their neighborhoods and communities from the tyranny of the police: they must turn up at confederate monuments and ensure that these symbols of oppression are torn down at gunpoint. Moreover should big gubmint come to take away their medicare and medicaid or even coverage for pre-existing conditions, these minorities must be ready to stand and fight.

Don't expect the NRA to act on any of that, especially the "tyranny of the police" stuff.

When the NRA Supported Gun Control

The NRA also supported California’s Mulford Act of 1967, which had banned carrying loaded weapons in public in response to the Black Panther Party’s impromptu march on the State Capitol to protest gun control legislation (and police brutality) on May 2, 1967.

It's time for the Left to set up its OWN "NRA" and get comfortable with the 2A.

of course not-i don't advocate laws that make it harder on blacks-especially economically disadvantaged blacks living in Democratic Party controlled areas-from getting guns. Who do you think does?

I support your right to bear arms, please support mine not to own or carry. I do not have guns in my home, nor do I want someone bringing a firearm into my home or business. Live and let live.

Because when the 2nd Amendment was written, all adult males were expected to help fight, and we'd just finished fighting a war for our independence, so the threat of retribution by the British, or an attack from some other nation loomed.

If they must, and their current pseudo-slave masters, those who seek to deny them the vote and reinstate Jim crow laws. And I'm not done: abortion clinic staff need to protect their right to deliver medical care, antifa protesters should be armed against the right-wing militias who come to kill; and if every person should have the right to bear arms then caravans of migrants crossing the border surely need weapons to defend themselves against drug cartels and traffickers and bearded slobs with dad-bods and camo paint! Arm the lot of them and make the f***ing NRA pay for it, yee-haw!
