Define arsenal

Define "nutter" in legal terms that can be codified into law.

BTW you apparently don't understand this fact

If the government cannot prevent you from buying or owning one gun, it doesn't suddenly get the power to prevent you from owning or buying ANOTHER gun. That is how a negative restriction works.

if i have to sign up for the shoot my dog list to buy cold medicine that works, then i don't see a problem with making sure that nutbags aren't prepping to shoot up the ****ing school.

Wrong. The Constitution gives you the right to own a firearm.

The Constitution does not 'give' the right but simply 'recognizes' self preservation as a right to not be infringed by our government.

Pass a constitutional amendment that guarantees the right to buy cold medicine.

That's an easy comment to make-how about actually making concrete suggestions that make sense and don't intrude on the rights of the citizenry who are not "nutbags"

we can keep track of nutbags building arsenals without significantly messing with your hobby.

So you are hostile to the fourth amendment as well as the second? I love how anti rights advocates like to diminish a right by calling it a hobby.

when i was a kid, i thought that joining the NRA was cool. these days, i wouldn't even take a **** on their front step. they are apologists for right wing extremists now.

Well. except for the fact that their are the preeminent organization for the shooting sports, for firearms safety training, supporting safe shooting ranges, and hunters education.

WTF are you talking about?

Please detail how this would be done....

You can start with how you define "nutbag".

if you're going to invent arguments for me that you feel are easier to attack than the actual argument that i made, at least try to do better than that. otherwise, i'll waste less time responding.

Well how are you going to maintain government overwatch on people you don't trust without violating the fourth amendment? when you make comments that really don't provide details, you run the risk of others filling in the holes.

when some violent asshole starts building an arsenal, someone should at least take a look. shouldn't be too hard to figure that one out.

do you oppose watchlists and other anti-terrorism measures? for example, i oppose the "patriot" act. however, if all of that kind of thing is ok, then we can definitely flag people who are building arsenals to make sure that they aren't about ready to shoot up some public place.

I have issues with crap like the "no fly list" or No buy list" when the standards of "proof" to get on those lists wouldn't even meet the standard for the issuance of a warrant- Probable cause.

How does the government get a list of those building arsenals without an illegal and unconstitutional firearms registration list? When the background check was passed-there was specific limits on this law-such as using the information in such a way.

BTW having 200 firearms does not make someone any more dangerous than someone who has 2-3. Just as is the case that someone like Jay Leno-who has millions of dollars worth of cars and probably a well stocked wine collection is no more likely to drive drunk than some guy who only has a pickup and a bottle of moonshine

it's possible to figure out if someone is looking to shoot up a public place. you aren't someone who is considering shooting up a public place, as you aren't a nutter. you are a gun hobbyist, and there's a difference. nutters are a different species. i support detecting the nutters before they can act and preventing them from shooting up public places.

well I was in law enforcement for 30 years -I'd love to hear your theories on how to detect such nutters. Now if someone is on FB or other social media-talking about say shooting up a synagogue or Mosque or say a church with mainly Black or gay parishioners-yeah, that might be grounds for an inquiry. And if someone makes threats, yes. Trying to collect information on how many guns someone owns is a non-starter
