Guns Strike Again

Ah, so I guess you haven't backed away from this nonsense claim. You dodged a challenge to it, but you certainly haven't backed away from it.

You can't have a rational discussion with somebody who has a username such as "bongsaway"

I take it you never partook in partaking. Many rational discussions have been held over bongs. It's booze-driven conversations which go awry...usually violently.

lol..."Let's ignore the massive uptick and focus on the plateau."

As you ignore two thirds are suicides? Of course that matters not when compared to the stop in the number of gun assault's. those deaths do not matter, it's the plateau of homicides that count more. Typical lib reasoning, only what fits your bias matters.

Not semantics at all. I have more than a few guns and many of them are not in the least built or designed for defensive purposes...BUT....I have granted you the "guns are designed to kill" argument for the sake of discussion. I am genuinely engaged and asked a series of direct and straightforward questions.
If I design and sell a defensive shotgun built for home security, that certainly implies the purchaser is buying it based on the concern that they might some day need to use it to defend their home against an intruder.

Is that gun 'built to kill', if so, who is it built to kill, and...if used properly, is that a good and legal use of said firearm?

Built to kill? I would go with yes on that one. I will even add it's designed to kill animal, mineral and vegetable if that answers the who part for you. For the last part of your question. If I owned a shotgun and you broke into my house, I would hope I had the presence of mind to let you know I have a shotgun and hope you leave before I have to shoot your butt.

I hope those answers help.

Yes, gun suicides are increasing as well, just like guns and the associated gun homicides. Are you surprised? I’m not.

Your own chart disagrees. Suicides climbing steadily, homicides plateaued, as in not increasing.

OK...we agree...the gun that is designed to defend your home IS built to kill.

Now... who is it built to kill, and...if used properly, is that a good and legal use of said firearm (assuming from your perspectie you had the time and whits to be gracious enough to warn the other person prior to shooting them)?

All I know is guns don't kill people and yet so many people are dying from gunshots. How does that happen when guns don't kill people?

And turtle, calamity never mentioned trump and yet you have a couple of times. Is it because trump incites violence in his followers?

Gun owners will never admit to anything negative about a firearm. Guns are made to kill and yet that little fact is always denied and the blame is put on the person, place or thing but never the gun itself and the deadly projectiles it fires.

I would suggest barking up a different tree, trying to reason with gun owners is like trying to argue with a drunk.

what actual argument has Calamity made? He admits he wants to bait gun owners but what is his argument?

Before you go and start getting your hackles up, I'm not against gun ownership. Being for more control of firearms is not something that makes a person a gun hater.

depends-if the more control only harasses honest gun owners-then you are against gun ownership. If it targets violent criminals, that is a different matter. So tell us what additional controls you think are necessary

Fewer guns, less bullets, air that is safe to walk and drive through.

I don't know where you're from but where Im from we don't have bullets whizzing through the air, at least not air that isn't at a shooting range in front of the shooters and behind the targets during a hot range.

75K-100K NRA members went to Indy last weekend for the national convention and the leadership conference at nearby Lucas Oil Stadium where Trump spoke. Guess what, not a single incident of one of those gun advocates causing any crime.

Unfortunately I had to miss the NRA meeting in Indy since it conflicted with other stuff I was doing but I heard the NRA is in trouble and they want Wayne LaPierre to resign.
I also heard Donald Trump made an appearance and speech, just as he did last year in Texas and the year before in Atlanta GA.

I don't have much use for Wayne-at least not his public face, since he is ponderous and slow as a public speaker and is weak at ripping the idiocy of the bannerrhoid movement talking heads

Who I thought I answered? Animal, mineral or vegetable and yes it's legal in my mind if you are defending your family or yourself. Shoot away.

Well specifically...wouldnt you say the 'who' in that instance would be criminals...bad guys...people that have no business being in your home (if used properly)? I mean assuming you havent been under siege in your living room by a violent bunch of bananas or carrots.

How do I know if the guy breaking into my house is a criminal? His breaking in is a criminal action but since he hasn't gone to court to prove his guilt he's just somebody who shouldn't be in my house. And thankfully no, I'm not under attack by a bunch of carrots but I did watch the movie sausage party.

Its rather comical. You bleat on about not being able to have a 'serious conversation' with gun owners and then make stupid comments like "How do I know if the guy breaking into my house is a criminal?"

Uh, I don't believe that is what he said.

I never said it was. I asked him if he had. He didn't answer me directly, but instead just repeated his nonsense claim, which gave me the answer I was looking for.

Yes, I see a bullet strike a young lady and say, "No more guns!" The zealots see it, and they say, "I want my pea shooter; **** that poor girl."
Interesting. If she had been killed by a drunk driver would your attitude be something like the following?
Yes, I see a drunk driver strike a young lady and say, "No more alcohol!" The zealots see it, and they say, "I want my appletini; **** that poor girl."
If not, why not?

How about responding to what I actually wrote, or do you withdraw your prior statement already?

Nevermind.

What "more control of firearms" do you want? Please be specific, including what penalties you think should be imposed for violations, how many lives you think it will save, and how much it will cost.

I went to work all day, and came back to see that none of you gun control heroes had the guts to even try to answer my questions, aye? I guess you're all hat and no cattle.

How do I know if the guy breaking into my house is a criminal?
Are you seriously asking this question?

His breaking in is a criminal action
This. This right here is how you know he is a criminal. He is committing a criminal act. By definition, he is a criminal.

but since he hasn't gone to court to prove his guilt he's just somebody who shouldn't be in my house.
Taking this to its logical conclusion, how do you know the guy plunging a steak knife into your chest is actually a murderer? I mean, he's not convicted or anything, so...

And thankfully no, I'm not under attack by a bunch of carrots but I did watch the movie sausage party.
My wife's sister saw that on a first date. She said it was... awkward. But they are still together, so I guess it worked for them.
