[W:22:181]They ARE coming for our guns.

Re: [W:22]They ARE coming for our guns.

The country of Texas....
*state

And no, they don't.

Also, what 'tyranny'? I just go to work and be with my family.

Re: [W:22]They ARE coming for our guns.

Then how do you explain this...
I said violent resistance. Mass non-compliance is not violent resistance. Shooting cops is violent resistance. How many cops did the citizens of Boulder execute? Zero.

... The amount of people who would actually attempt violent resistance on this is so small that they'll be easily squashed by the government.

Then how do you explain this...

'Gun-toting hippies' greet Boulder 'assault weapons' ban with mass noncompliance.

Only 342 “assault weapons,” or semiautomatic rifles, were certified by Boulder police before the Dec. 31 deadline, meaning there could be thousands of residents in the scenic university town of 107,000 in violation of the sweeping gun-control ordinance.

“I would say the majority of people I’ve talked to just aren’t complying because most people see this as a registry,” said Lesley Hollywood, executive director of the Colorado Second Amendment group Rally for Our Rights. “Boulder actually has a very strong firearms community.”

I would suggest observation lessons.

The reason I don't think so, is because this is exactly how the Clinton AWB went down. Gun owners just rolled over. Same with machine guns.

1) the clinton gun ban didn't seize guns and you could basically have the same thing with minor cosmetic changes

2) the machine gun ban was clearly unconstitutional but proved the venal and spiteful nature of gun banners as well as proving crime control is not what motivates democrat gun haters

3) you cannot read MILLER and HELLER and find a MG ban constitutional

Does this law seize guns? I haven't read it..

Gun owners, including you and I, presently allow unconstitutional laws to be enforced at gunpoint, yes. I am aware of that fact. The constitution means nothing if you aren't willing to perform violence to enforce it. Gun owners are not, which basically neuters the second amendment.

it does when one dies. If honest people who have never been to jail, are told that they are going to jail merely for owning something they have owned legally for years, I expect more than a few would violently retaliate

Re: [W:22]They ARE coming for our guns.

Hysterically shrieking about someone coming for your guns requires someone to, you know, actually come for said guns.

Otherwise it is nothing more than hysterical whining of the same sort we've seen numerous times over the past couple years.

Hysterical shrieking?

Where?

Oh, and denying someone the right to make a profit on a legally owned item IIRC conversion.

A bad thing.

So, I see you would like to go on record and having absolutely no understanding about Texas and it's people.
" It's a whole 'nuther country ".
Why do you think we have our very own power grid.
That is not the only thing we are fiercely independent about.

When you advocate trying to take our guns away, you are invoking tyranny on us.
We won't stand for it.
This 2017 Newsweek article explains it pretty well. It should be make a STICKY and required reading for New York City types who want to impose their will on us.

https://www.newsweek.com/2017/12/15/america-guns-deadly-obsession-texas-736274.html

From the article...

Texas as an American state, like Texas as a republic before that and Texas as a Mexican state before that, survived only because armed civilians did what their government could not do—keep them safe, keep them alive. Without guns, there would be no Texas.

You don't own anything when you're dead. The gun would have to belong to a trust.

They never do, tho.

I believe Texas is far less likely to drop to thier knees in submission than soviet occupied California.

Hell, they are already occupied by a fifth column.

Re: [W:22]They ARE coming for our guns.

And when have I don this?

It is late and I was about to log off.
So...Let me apologize now if i go back and see you said you DID NOT support gun control efforts.
I just do not have the time to go back and examine all nine pages of this thread.
So an apology is in order if I am wrong.

If you do support gun control efforts, we can always resume the fight at a later date.

Are you good with this?

I'm happy to be on record in opposition to this bill.

Proud member of that column. Good grief, the paranoia expressed here is hilarious. Get all the guns you want. Just pass a background check, prove you know how to use and store them safely, and dont transfer ownership of them to others without penalty. Other nations have figured this out and remain free.

Re: They ARE coming for our guns.

I agree that gun owners do NOT have to worry about gun confiscation.

As the decades go by and the United States of America continues its inexorable change, there will actually be more gun owners.

There will be more crime, so the government at that time will either encourage people to buy guns for protection, or it will turn a blind eye if having a gun is technically illegal.

Being deprived of one's guns will be the least worry of people living in this country by, say, 2100.

I do not let "other" nations dictate what freedoms I can have.
Nor do I let Californians or New Yorkers tell me what I can do in Texas.
The same way I do not let Nickyjo tell me what I can do with my property.

I see what you call "paranoia" every day. You just gave an example of your own beliefs about guns intruding on mine.
We are not paranoid, and your post proves your intention to force your will on me.
You have NO RIGHT to tell me what I can do with my legally owned property. Yet you think you do, for some reason.

1. Prove you know how to use them....how can i do that if I do not have one to practice with.
2. Store them safely...I keep a few out that I can grab in an instant if needed. They are all loaded and ready to go.
3. Don't transfer ownership to others without penalty....I can buy, sell, or give away any damned thing i feel like. I recently gave my granddaughter the .22 I had when I was her age.

You keep your "requirements" where you live and leave me alone.

Well, Mr. Fifth Columnist, I have a five shot .44 caliber revolver I call my "90 year old gun".
It is because when i am 90 years old, I would still be able to fire it in defense of my life, but not be able to pass your performance test that will get more and more difficult each and every year to the point only master marksmen will be able to pass it....in your world.

In my world (Texas) I will still be able to have it when I am 90 years old.
You see, OLD LIVES MATTER.

Though, I know in California and New York they hate "old white men" to the core.

You paint a sad picture, but I think you may be right, though I am sure we both wish it not so.
I have 500 rounds of what I call, " heirloom ammunition " to pass down to my kin.
Brand new military 2013 7.62 NATO ball ammunition that will still be able to fire one hundred years from now.
They sealed the primers and then crimped them in and put sealer on the bullets too.

It is for my future grandkids children if needed.
I would like them to think that old crotchety grandpa PV was thinking of them in the coming dark days.

Re: [W:22]They ARE coming for our guns.

Then the brisket is on me if you get down this way.
Good night for now, my friend.

No worries I don't keep scores.

I know that it is of cold comfort to you, but someday (say, in the year 2100), those people living in what still remains of the United States of America will look back on 2019 as those halcyon days.

Best wishes.

Waiting for someone to actually kick you in the nuts instead of preparing yourself so you don't get kicked in the nuts is an act of stupidity.

so you don't support

1) magazine limits
2) "assault weapon bans"
3) the Hughes Amendment"
4) One gun per month restrictions

Good to hear

Why should a transfer of a firearm from one non-prohibited person to another non-prohibited person be a crime? How is society hurt by this action?

Sorry, but I and others through our representatives tell you (and you tell me) what we can and can't do with your property rather frequently on a local, state and federal level. The second amendment is no more absolute than the first. Look it up.
