Does the NRA defend the gun rights of African Americans?

Why is the NRA silent in cases like Philando Castile? Or what about this case?

How can gun rights apply to African Americans if right wingers will support militarized police when they shoot African Americans because ''they might have a gun''?

Does the ''good guy with a gun'' get applied to African Americans by the NRA or Fox News or any right-wing outlet?

The NRA supports no one's rights. The NRA is the lobbying and propaganda firm of the gun industry and those people in this country who use "feeeeelings" of fake patriotism to elect the far right-wing legislature that doesn't give one wit for them OR their phony patriotism and is only concerned with financial hegemony.

It isn't legal for police to shoot people because they might have a gun.

But when people with guns wave them around in places where they should instead be quiet and get out of the way, those people with guns get shot by police looking for a person with a gun.

Don't they.

What are you talking about?

Uneducated opinion noted.

And why in the world would black people want to buy guns after hearing about cases like Castile and Roberson? Guns seem to make them less safe on every level.

And this "its not NRA's job to deal with these cases" seems like buck passing to me. Why should black people buy guns if the cops will use that as a reason to shoot them, Fox News will take the cops side and the NRA will remain silent?

The NRA don't say much on police shootings, period. Whether black or white, they go after legislation. In Fact the NRA supported a black guy in the McDonald v. Chicago case.

Since you seem to be stuck on Philando Castile so much let’s talk about that. First off he was not a good guy with a gun he was a lawbreaker and irresponsible gun owner. did he deserve to die? no of course he did not and the cop overreacted, but Mr. Castille brought most of that situation on himself by not being a responsible gun owner. he had been smoking marijuana before driving that day which impaired his judgment. Also, when you purchase a handgun you fill out a federal 4474 form on which you must check a box next to a question that asks you if you are a habitual marijuana user. if you are, you are not legally able to own a handgun. secondly when Mr. Castille was pulled over, instead of immediately identifying himself to the officer as a “CCW holder”, he instead said (probably because he was impaired due to marijuana use) “I have to tell you I havea gun”.....saying you have a gun to a cop is a lot different than identifying yourself as a CCW holder. Police officers are a lot more comfortable with CCW owners because those people have been thoroughly vetted and background checked and are law abiding citizens whom the police will not fear. That situation would’ve gone a lot different had Mr. Castille followed the law and had used different language with the officer. Go on YouTube and type in CCW police stop and you can see exactly how you should act if you are a CCW holder getting pulled over by the police
