Alabama McDonald's gunman killed by armed dad, who is injured in shootout

I'm glad I live in a country where I don't have to hear about public shootouts happening nearly every day or worry about my safety without a gun. No, Americans, this is not just the way the world is, it's a cultural and societal sickness.

as Jihad spreads to Europe, I suspect things will change for you

So I take it you are going to repeat Trump by suggesting the answer is armed security in every school, church, and wherever else?

I'm going to suggest that trusting Law abiding citizens with their Constitutional Rights is a good idea.

At schools and places of worship, what would be wrong with keeping them a bit safer? There is no 100% safe place on the planet so long as there are evil people, all one can do is try and take the steps that would reduce the number of helpless victims. Law enforcement cannot protect us, they cannot be at all places at all times, heck it took 20 Minutes for the police to show in force in Pittsburgh, that is a life time in an emergency. So of us prefer to have a fighting chance if things go south, heck 20 minutes is the average time for a law enforcement officer to show up where I live, we have timed it. Think it cannot happen in your neighborhood, we had one of our neighbors shoot at another neighbor last week, he missed the guys head by inches and went into the house barely missing their grandkids in a room playing. The advice if the LEO's, after arresting the drunken shooter, buy a gun and protect yourself and family, and that had they **** back they would not of had any problem with it. Defend yourself and family or end up as another statistic, life is full of choices, you pick yours and I have no issue with that, just don't take away my ability to legally make mine.

... That's exactly what they're stating, you should be afraid for your life without a gun in America, only the heavily armed can be safe.
Expatriate?

Very unfortunately we live in a violent country that is becoming more so every year, it seems. Firearms are too often involved, but I personally believe if every gun in the U.S. were to be confiscated it would not solve the problem. Americans would find other means to kill each other.

=RabidAlpaca;1069222643]Nope. I live in a very rural area and have no interaction with the state. I just don't live in a country where I have to worry about that kind of thing. No worries, there'll be another public shooting tomorrow for you to dismiss and pretend this is all normal.
For someone that has "no interaction with the state" you seem to worry a lot about others. Why not worry about your own people there being knifed, beheaded and cars and trucks driving up crowed sidewalks?Or is that normal?

Well that's a lie. Why then are conservatives chanting "a good guy with a gun" as the answer to everything? That's exactly what they're stating, you should be afraid for your life without a gun in America, only the heavily armed can be safe.
You mean like the heavily armed McDonald employee hiding in the freezer?
