House minority leader Nancy Pelosi met with survivors of the Parkland, Fla. mass shooting Wednesday to discuss their gun control advocacy work and to praise the students for forcing lawmakers to confront the issue of gun violence.During a round table discussion moderated by Representative Ted Deutch (D., Fla.), Pelosi credited the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas students’ activism with ensuring that gun control legislation will emerge as the Democrats’ top priority if they overturn the Republican congressional majority in November.
“I admire you so much,” Pelosi said, according to the Miami Herald. “You have the purpose, the generosity of spirit. You have the marchers — you have people who will go out there to make a difference — and you just have a relentless, persistent, dissatisfied approach.”

the bannerrhoid movement is a wing of the left and is mainly designed to harass people who don't buy into the creeping crud of collectivism. Hopefully, Trump gets to replace hard core Bannerrhoids Breyer and Ginsburg with more pro gun justices so the odious Pelosi's schemes are eviscerated if they become law.

Don't give me the political rhetoric of the Republicans won't allow anything. You, Pelosi are a member of Congress. It is one thing to "confront" the issue. Which really means Congress has done nothing to reduce the threat of gun violence at schools. Typical broken Congress.

I'm always surprised when stuff like this comes out right before an election. It's hard enough for democrats to competitively run in red states as it is, why make it even harder?

I hate to sound snarky, but I think Pelosi may finally have begun to succumb to dementia. The only reason Parkland as a political issue still has any legs is Bloomberg money. The genuine Parkland "converts" are few and far between. Most of these kids are slowly trying to get back to their regular lives, the types of lives in which guns are one small issue of many.

I notice that even with the funding, the Parkland astroturf campaign is running out of steam. The organized anti-gun groups have evidently realized that they still have to face a substantial and determined bloc of "progun rights" voters and politicians. Their tactic of using emotion to whip up anti-gun fervor is only marginally effective over the long term. It withers in the face of reason and logic. In particular, the Democratic party seems to have switched to supporting political candidates who are "stealth" anti-gunners (you know, the ones who say "I am a gun owner, but no one should be able to....."). I guess they have finally realized that making gun bans a priority in a political campaign is not a winning strategy.

The moral of the story is, Pelosi, Bloomberg, and their anti-gun allies will never quit. The pro gun rights people can therefore never relax, at least until one or two more staunch 2A supporters on SCOTUS are sworn in to seal the deal for RKBA.

I'm not sure about "gun huggers", but some Cuban-Americans gave Pelosi a piece of their mind ... :lamo

No ban can ever be implemented until the 2nd Amendment is repealed and another amendment passed that bans the ownership of guns.


If this were done, YOU and your gun-loving friends would be the traitors.


People who have SWORN to uphold the Constitution and defend it against enemies both foreign and domestic would come to your house and seize your guns (assuming you don't meekly hand them in first like I know you would).

The worse thing you have to fear if that it will be harder to buy a gun at a gun show because of stricter (and longer) background checks.

Because as we saw with Kav and when Seattle instituted a tax that they knew 100% was illegal and would be overturned by the courts "WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!".

This is where feel goodism has taken us.

The Second Amendment lunacy reminds me of WW1, when generals ordered their troops over the top of the the trenches to charge machine guns like they were still battling muskets and sabers instead of machine guns and artillery. It's a quaint idea that has lost the battle against technology and time.
