They are SO SO SO lucky there was a range instructor on hand to stop them before that went into a bad bad place.

They should release the guy's name so he can be properly shunned by the public.
 
The guy on the right saw his bud pointing his fire arm toward the left (he should have done something right there).But did he realize stupid was pointing it at his head afterward? Both are still just as stupid, no arguments there.

The rangemaster and business owner did the right thing. Wouldn’t want those guys at my range. In addition to being permanently banned from that range, the owner should contact all the other local range owners and ask them to also permanently blacklist the idiots.
 
How do we know the gun was empty...never mind but how do we know?
Always treat every gun as if it is loaded...always.

good advice-its been several years since I investigated reports of accidental shootings but at least half of them had this nonsense

It's really simple...it's a goddamn GUN, assume it's loaded until you are either told it is not by a pro or you can determine for yourself that there aren't any bullets in it.
Just automatically count on it being loaded, that's all, no brain surgery or rocket science necessary.
We assume that gasoline is flammable, right? That's ALL gasoline...always.
 
Besides, loaded or not, gun range workers and officials are GOING to take a VERY dim view of that nonsense anyway because it is HORSEPLAY and horseplay is how people get hurt.

It is maybe THE NUMERO UNO NO NO at a gun range.
It's like joking about a bomb while getting on an airplane.

I don't blame the range for taking this action at all. Why should they have to go through the legal hell of a shooting like that?

Those two idiots are a danger to themselves and others, and give all the responsible firearms enthusiasts an undeserved bad rap.
