A longtime College of Southern Nevada sociology professor is facing felony gun charges in connection with an on-campus shooting on the second day of classes.

Uh huh.

M'kay...I think I have been pretty clear that I am not a trump supporter; dont care for the man and I'd even send him a "kiss my @ss" Hallmark card if I didn't have to pay the postage.

However...there is a line that can be drawn when it comes to showing my distaste for someone's beliefs, politics, and policies....shooting myself crosses that line by a few light years.

If anyone benefitted from this incident, it was the Janitor who was compensated nicely for his troubles.

That being said....what law ( that we do not already have) would have prevented this?

I suppose I would recommend a safe handling of firearms class for this gent, but, as it looks like he will be a felon soon, that shouldn't ever be an issue again.

Right? ;)

This topic of guns in this nation... idiots across the spectrum... I rest my case that this topic is never going away, rational discussion and behavior was discarded a long way back.

Shooting yourself in the arm to protest a President is not going to be remembered well, but I still suspect some will champion this guy and it furthers my point on the idiocy alive and well in this nation these days.

I hope that this prof will soon be receiving the mental healthcare he needs. The article (and other articles on this) say that a $100 bill was found taped to the mirror for the janitor, but I doubt he or she has it. It's evidence.

Another tragic school shooting to add to the list for 2018.

True to all of the above; but I hope the Janitor was compensated....cleaning up someone's blood is always unpleasant.

He or she does in the form of a paycheck. When you clean bathrooms, you sometimes have to deal with the unpleasant.

Likely a cleanup team was brought in.

But I must commend him that he didn't crack and go out on a shooting spree in some public gathering. If only others would use the gun on themselves rather than innocent citizens. Maybe there will be copycats.

I support that statement....if you are willing to shoot yourself to "make a point", you are;

A) Overly dedicated.

B) Full Blown Bat-Scheiss Drooling Crazy.

C) Probably not the person we want teaching our youth in college.

I don't know all the facts, and I don't know if we will ever really know them. However, one possibility to consider was that this was just a suicide attempt that went wrong, and the victim decided to create a story that put himself in a different light.
