If you want to talk about all types of gun deaths which would be homicides, suicides, and accidental deaths its only fair that we talk about all deaths that fall under the categories of homicides, suicides, and accidental deaths and not limit it to just guns. Talking about just gun deaths would not be fair as there are obviously other ways to die. When talking about homicides there has been mention that that doesn't take all gun deaths into account since not all gun deaths are homicides. Therefore it is only proper to talk about all gun deaths but not limit it to just gun deaths. We should talk about all homicides, all suicides, and all accidental deaths. We won't talk about other causes of death such as disease or old age since guns do not cause those kinds of deaths. So while more guns might mean more gun deaths specifically it should also be taken into question if cities, states, and countries with more restrictive gun control have lower rates of homicide, suicide, and accidental deaths overall whether they're with guns or not.

NYC.. safest city in America

MOST gun deaths are suicide.

NYC.. safest city in America

Wrong it's the safest "big" city" it is not the safest city over all.

What is the safest city in US?
Read the 2016 version here.

Sunnyvale, California. Sunnyvale is the safest city in America for the third straight year
Fremont, California
Naperville, Illinois
Alexandria, Virginia
Cary, North Carolina
Frisco, Texas
Stamford, Connecticut
Bellevue, Washington
Irvine, California
Honolulu, Hawaii

Gun deaths are deaths by gun. Other deaths are deaths.

Vast majority are strict gun control areas

And the vast majority are high income areas. Even allegedly dangerous cities, e.g. Chicago, have some high crime and high poverty areas that greatly skew the 'gun crime' statistics.

If one wants to talk about "all types of gun deaths," the only ones germane to the conversation are ones resulting from a victim's having been by a gun shot. Why? Because shot and killed by, say, an arrow isn't a gun death. Neither is having died as a result of having been clubbed or stoned to death.

How about talking about all forms of homicide, suicide, and accidental deaths whether they're with guns or not.

MOST gun deaths are suicide.

Right. And its been discussed here before suicide is a cultural thing. So the thing to do is to work towards having a less suicide oriented culture, that will reduce ALL suicides, including suicides with guns.

If one wants to talk about "all types of gun deaths," which is the condition set in the first sentence of your OP, the only deaths germane to the conversation are those resulting from a victim's having been by a gun shot. "All forms of all forms of homicide, suicide, and accidental deaths" is a different conversation topic.

So you're willing to discuss all intentional deaths? The UNODC tracks the intentional death rate worldwide, which is a better measurement of how gun laws work to reduce the death rate.

Guns are also a cultural thing. Suicide is much more complex than that

I don't care if someone kills themself. Not my problem. YOU want to MANAGE society. Meddling. Meddling. Meddling. /pfft/ People like you are "busybodies" who need to mind their own damn business.

For what purpose? comparison. Then what?

I could research for days all the different ways of homicide, suicide and accidental deaths...then what do I do with all that information?

What do you do with just gun death data?
