Just want to know if anyone has any exposure to the .224 Valkyrie, seems to match the 6.5 Creedmoor, an excellent round, with less recoiled. Anyone here used this, Turtle and the rest, got thoughts?

Wrong forum for this. This is the gun control forum

It is the only section that deals with firearms, take a hike unless you have something to add. Do you know something about the round?

I have a friend (doesnt everyone?) that builds his own ARs as a hobby and he has built a couple of the Valkyries and really likes them. I'll have to go shooting with him soon and get a feel for myself.

You could maybe start this kind of thread under "Leisure Activities"...

Yes, we all do, built a few from parts myself, but not familiar with the cal, if you get any info it would be appreciated. Thanks.

A co-worker just put a few rounds through one and said he was shooting 5 shot groups inside an inch at 100 yds. He told me the ballistics are such that it shoots flat as hell for the first 100 yards or so and then drops after. Just repeating him.

No worries. I dont mind either way. a mod might move it for you.

Fine by me. There should be a section devoted to this type of topic, wish they would add one for prepping, something everyone should at least consider.

A bit disillusioned that deer hunters would use it. As a sniper, probably so.

That's one of my main two objections - too small for hunting in most states. The other is with such a small bullet impacts on steel at 1000+ yards can be hard to discern. If I wanted a long range AR I'd like go 6.5G or stick with 5.56mm - at 5000 feet above sea level I can keep a small pill supersonic out to 1000 yds fairly easy.

Thinner air, that's true.

How about I not take a hike and I do what I want. LOL

Damn good shooting, just saying....

i think it is overhyped. A much better round for an AR is the 6mm AR turbo 40. they shoot like this.

From whst I can see, it doesn't stay super-sonic as far out as the creedmore.

A guy I know built an AR chambered in in 224 and he had a lot of feed problems. He says he tweaked and changed everything he knew to tweak and change and the problems still existed.
