A simple path to never needed to own a gun

I'm not guessing. I'm observing. In my rather lengthy time observing, I've seen one security guard carrying a revolver. As for LEO, I know several, and none carry a revolver. Most police forces have a prescribed carry weapon. None of these weapons are revolvers. Conformity means interchangeability. An important attribute.

Hoggy advocates banning "assault" weapons. A not clearly defined term. Others in the same general group have defined "assault" weapon as any semi auto weapon.

This is a huge leap. He has NEVER come out and said he wants to ban all semi automtaics. Those are the facts

Two Ohio state senators introduced a bill in Ohio that did precisely that - defined any semiauto weapon including all semiauto pistols as "assault weapons". These people aren't to be trusted.

Are automobiles made and designed specifically to kill? This ridiculous diversion from gun fans is kindergarten level.
Why? Dead is dead.

See post #77 below. Precisely what I said.

Here is a simple path for all of you that will alleviate you of the need to buy a gun. Now, the nightmare (or dream) scenario for every gun owner is if someone breaks into your home with intent to harm/kill. Unfortunately, those scenarios are just not that likely to happen. Home burglaries are no uncommon. But here's a easy path that anybody with true will can follow in order to statistically never need a gun in your home.

First, you need to make a decent living by:

Get a High School diploma and a college degree if you're smart enough.

Don't commit any felonies.

Get a decent paying job.

Move to a neighborhood that does not encounter crime as often (suburbs).

Get an alarm system.

Get a german shepherd.

That's it. If you can't do any of these, then you are setting yourself up to either living poor and being an easy target for crime, or not utilizing simple resources to prevent people from breaking into your home.

Oh, and for those that like to carry their guns around town. Here's some tips that will make it so you won't have to carry a gun.

1. Don't be a prick in public.

2. Don't go to convenience stores in sketchy neighborhood, especially at night time.

3. Make sure you do your shopping in a safer part of town, or just a nice town like we talked about above.

Just like that, you've taken some preventative measures to ensure you never need to own a gun. Every measure above is very easy to obtain if you work hard. None of them will be much of a burden to you, outside of the dog. If you're allergic to dogs, not much else for ya on that one. But the tips listed are all things you should be striving for anyways.

That way you won't have to live in fear and feel implored to buy a gun. Which will up the chances of anybody in that home being harmed by that gun by about 25%.....

Excellent plan. "Everyone Just Become Upper Middle Class". Gosh, why didn't we think of this before!?!

Hey, out of curiosity, what's your plan for A) everyone else and B) the people of this demographic who still find themselves in danger (the single mom with the psycho ex, the parent watching an active shooter charge a park, etc.)? Magic?

How many accidental deaths are caused by non-violent gun users and how many are are caused by non-violent car drivers?

Besides, we've been just having a gun in the house is dangerous, regardless if it's being carried or used.

How is having a gun in the house dangerous? It's a machine composed of metal and other various components. My houses have contained guns for decades. None have given any indication of being dangerous.

gun owners usually vote for pro gun politicians. those politicians often upset abortion activists, homosexual rights advocates, and big government nanny state ninnies. That is why we have people bashing gun owners who don't know a thing about guns. They know what our politics often are, and that alone upsets them.

That makes a lot of sense.
It is also why I am a one issue voter, only because how a politician views me tells a lot about them.
Am I a responsible citizen to be trusted or a horrible beast that needs to be controlled.
Their views on gun control answers this for me.

Hunting is an archaic activity. Hunting was necessary generations ago. If I want meat, I can drive to the store and get it.

As for target shooting, I find that activity to be masturbation. Shooting at a stationary target will NOT make you a better shooter in a gun fight. Only experience in a gunfight will make you better at it. Shooting at a target may be fun for simpletons, but its practical usage is moot. SHooting a target to become a better shooter in a gunfight is like just hitting a punching bag and expecting to be a better boxer in a fight.

So this load of crapola has been thoroughly refuted by many here. This post exposed more huge holes in your knowledge of this issue.

Anything else?

You should notify the military. Tell them how much money and time they can save but not sending our soldiers to the range anymore. I can believe I have wasted countless hours working on my shooting ability for when I do deploy. What a waste. If only anyone in the military was as smart as you.

You should probably not be talking about simpletons with the retarded garbage you just posted. It's really you just insulting yourself.
