Here is a simple path for all of you that will alleviate you of the need to buy a gun. Now, the nightmare (or dream) scenario for every gun owner is if someone breaks into your home with intent to harm/kill. Unfortunately, those scenarios are just not that likely to happen. Home burglaries are no uncommon. But here's a easy path that anybody with true will can follow in order to statistically never need a gun in your home.

First, you need to make a decent living by:

Get a High School diploma and a college degree if you're smart enough.

Don't commit any felonies.

Get a decent paying job.

Move to a neighborhood that does not encounter crime as often (suburbs).

Get an alarm system.

Get a german shepherd.

That's it. If you can't do any of these, then you are setting yourself up to either living poor and being an easy target for crime, or not utilizing simple resources to prevent people from breaking into your home.

Oh, and for those that like to carry their guns around town. Here's some tips that will make it so you won't have to carry a gun.

1. Don't be a prick in public.

2. Don't go to convenience stores in sketchy neighborhood, especially at night time.

3. Make sure you do your shopping in a safer part of town, or just a nice town like we talked about above.

Just like that, you've taken some preventative measures to ensure you never need to own a gun. Every measure above is very easy to obtain if you work hard. None of them will be much of a burden to you, outside of the dog. If you're allergic to dogs, not much else for ya on that one. But the tips listed are all things you should be striving for anyways.

That way you won't have to live in fear and feel implored to buy a gun. Which will up the chances of anybody in that home being harmed by that gun by about 25%.....

Take the bus, too, as studies show that automobiles are 60 times more lethal than buses for passengers.

Take the bus, too, as studies show that automobiles are 60 times more lethal than buses for passengers.

Oh yes, the dreaded "whataboutism."

You know what's funny about the whole automobile counterargument made by the ignorant gun nut. It's really not much of a comparison.

If people operated their guns in the same manner as they operated their cars, we probably would've wiped all of us out by now.

Think about it, millions of people get in cars every day and drive anywhere form 25-90 mph on the streets/highways. We pass each other by a few mere inches sometimes. Yet, deaths aren't that high? I mean we regulate the hell outta cars. Gotta pass a course and test to get your license. Speed limits, lane indicators, street signs/lights, highway patrolmen/cops on the streets issuing citations.

Imagine if me and you started just firing our guns facing each other but just a few inches apart. Every day. For several minutes/hours.

Yea.... the car argument is ridiculous.

What sort of psychopath gets a pet with the intention of putting it in harms way? I'd buy a gun to defend my dog.

Uh, OK, your advice noted. But, what if I don't need to buy a gun, I just want to buy a gun?

....Oh, and for those that like to carry their guns around town...

That would be me.

...Here's some tips that will make it so you won't have to carry a gun.

??? I don't have to. I just like to. But thanks for the "tips" anyway.

Rule#2 for public carry is racist as hell. Are you saying that minorities in the ghetto are more prone to violent crime?

(this is actually factual, but saying it is considered "wayciss" by liberals")

I prefer labs and all your all your advice doesn't help during hunting season...

Not to mention, this is a tired "needs based" argument.
Some like guns for hunting, or just shooting off the back porch in rural areas.

Kind of the same thing in sweden, women dont go out at night if you dont want to be raped

Don't wear sexy cloths...

Don't drive too nice of a car.

Don't shop in your own neighborhood.

Oh yes, the dreaded "whataboutism."

You know what's funny about the whole automobile counterargument made by the ignorant gun nut. It's really not much of a comparison.

Don't automobile accidents take more lives than guns? So if this actually a concern of yours is about keeping people safe then he has a point.

If people operated their guns in the same manner as they operated their cars, we probably would've wiped all of us out by now.

Yea.... the car argument is ridiculous.
Usually when most people use the car argument it's anti-2nd amendment trash saying retarded **** like "You got to have a license, insurance and registration for a car, so the same thing should apply to guns". But the fail to realize that those things are for driving a car on a public road, not for buying the car, not for storing and and not for using the car on private private property. They also fail to realize that driving is a state granted privileged while owning guns is a constitutional right.

Here is a simple path for all of you that will alleviate you of the need to buy a gun. Now, the nightmare (or dream) scenario for every gun owner is if someone breaks into your home with intent to harm/kill. Unfortunately,
Unfortunately?

those scenarios are just not that likely to happen.
On the contrary you are three times as likely for your home to be invaded or burglarized as you are of having a house fire? Do you keep fire extinguishers in your house? Do you have fire insurance? If you prepare for the unlikely event of a house fire than it would make sense to also prepare for the three times as likely event of having somebody break into your house.

Home burglaries are no uncommon.
No uncommon? But you said they don't happen that much. You're contradicting yourself. And the proper way to say it is, "not uncommon," not "no uncommon."

But here's a easy path that anybody with true will can follow in order to statistically never need a gun in your home.

First, you need to make a decent living by:

Get a High School diploma and a college degree if you're smart enough.
Been there done that. Its the people who don't like guns who are the uneducated ones.

Don't commit any felonies.
I agree with that. Its also a requirement for getting guns legally.

Get a decent paying job.
Done. Also a good idea if you want to get guns since guns are expensive.

Move to a neighborhood that does not encounter crime as often (suburbs).
Which is where I live although crime still happens, it happens everywhere and break ins can happen in any neighborhood.

Get an alarm system.
Not a bad idea although its extra money and many alarm systems require you to pay a monthly fee. Besides alarm systems can be bypassed and they can also go off by accident.

Get a german shepherd.
Dogs are lots of work and in some communities there are movements to ban larger dogs such as german shepherds since they can be dangerous. Besides a german shepherd isn't going to stop a determined home invader. There was this family that went out, when they came home they found their house had been broken into and their german shepherd was beaten to death with a baseball bat.

That's it. If you can't do any of these, then you are setting yourself up to either living poor and being an easy target for crime, or not utilizing simple resources to prevent people from breaking into your home.
I agree on utilizing simple resources and one of those resources is guns and the proper training on how to use them in defensive situations. That plus the above stuff you mentioned can be very effective in stopping criminals. And aside from that I also like to go hunting and I like to go shooting at the range and I use guns for both those things.

Oh, and for those that like to carry their guns around town. Here's some tips that will make it so you won't have to carry a gun.

1. Don't be a prick in public.
I agree with that, and anybody who is probably should not be carrying a gun. Although it still wont mean you can't be a target for crime.

2. Don't go to convenience stores in sketchy neighborhood, especially at night time.
As I don't live in a sketchy neighborhood I usually don't have to go to convenience stores located in such places, but there are some people who can only go to stores located in such places, namely people who live in sketchy neighborhoods.

3. Make sure you do your shopping in a safer part of town, or just a nice town like we talked about above.
I do that as well, but some people don't have much of a choice on that matter. And besides, crime can happen in the safer parts of town too.

I am a strong believer in lots of the preventative measures you mentioned above and I am a strong believer in hard work and from my observations its usually the people who don't like guns who don't work hard. But in addition to the stuff you mentioned, there is also nothing wrong with keeping guns in addition to all that provided you're properly trained and that you use and store your guns responsibly. Gun deaths in families are due to people not properly and responsibly storing and using their guns, not because of the guns themselves although it is true that if you don't keep guns in your house the chances of a family member dying from one of your guns is zero but the point is if you do keep guns you can keep the chances of family members dying from them at zero by being responsible.

That way you won't have to live in fear and feel implored to buy a gun. Which will up the chances of anybody in that home being harmed by that gun by about 25%.....
Live in fear? Just because somebody has guns doesn't mean they are living in fear, often it means they just like to be prepared. As for upping the chances of somebody in the home being harmed by a gun by 25% see my post directly above. And guns are also used for hunting and for target shooting, which I also mentioned above.

All those regulations are for driving cars on public roads, not for owning cars. There are no regulations for owning cars.

That's the most convoluted thing I've read in the gun forum in months.

I don't own guns out of fear, I own guns because I enjoy owning guns.

Are you saying that minorities in the ghetto are more prone to violent crime?

He only mentioned sketchy neighborhoods, not the people that live there and whether or not they're minorities.

And like most "liberal" needs-based arguments, refuses to acknowledge that anyone else's needs are different from theirs.

Speaking of needs based... David Hogg, that super anti gun activist was at the NRA HQ this weekend protesting the NRA and gun ownership... surrounded by armed guards. Maybe the OP should add "Don't be an activist you won't need to hire guns".

Take the bus, too, as studies show that automobiles are 60 times more lethal than buses for passengers.

He cannot conceive of the fact that many of us actually enjoy shooting sports

Kind of the same thing in sweden, women dont go out at night if you dont want to be raped

But women have as much of a right to go out at night as anybody else. Its the rapists who shouldn't be out at night, or at any time for that matter. Now, of women carried guns while going out after receiving good training on how to use them in defensive situations that they could take care of themselves and not get raped.

in a huge pile of silly logically wanting anti gun tripe, the OP is one of the most fetid

Seems like every mother****er who wants to tell me I don't need guns to defend myself has whole gunmen to defend themselves. You'd think that would invalidate the entire argument in the eyes of everyone watching... but people are powerful stupid.

Simple question: Who do you think you are that gives you the standing to tell others what they need or don't need?
Geesh, have you ever actually lived outside of your little fish bowl?

I ask you the same question. You conservative gun nuts live in this little paranoid world in which everyone is out to get you, and that you'll have to take up arms against the government. Spoiler alert: its 2018. With technology, the government could crush us.
