Its been said time and time again on this forum that more guns means more gun deaths. To some extent that's true and it does make sense. In the same way that if you have more cars you will have more car deaths if you have more guns you will also have more gun deaths. However, more guns does not necessarily mean there will be more deaths period. Simply by having more guns in a society does not mean there will be more deaths from causes other than old age. The one cause of death I would like to see go up is old age. All other causes of death I would like to see go down. Having more guns in a society, while there might be more gun deaths as an unwanted side affect there will be more lives saved because a gun can be used to save a life just as it can be used to take a life and it depends on the user.
