Here -- I'll help you.

I hereby ban you from all guns. You may never own one, handle one, or stare longingly at one.

The rest of us who don't want bans, however, are free to own and bear arms (within the law, of course).

You've given us your first step, to prohibit the manufacture of firearms. You didn't quite explain how that's supposed to work, but this is a thought exercise. Let's keep going. Say such a bill passes Congress, gets signed by the president and passes judicial review. All gun manufacturers are closed and no imports are allowed.

What's step two?

They would want someone else, not them of-course, to go house to House confiscating all firearms. It is the only way they would feel safe, and after all aren't their feelings more important than our Rights.
Thankfully they will never achive their wet dream.

We can not ban guns. For one thing, there are way too many guns on the street already. No one even knows how many there are or who has them. There is no way to enforce a ban.

Moreover, there is the right to keep and bear arms.

The best that could be done would be to make it more difficult for the nutters to get guns. That won't help a lot, but it might prevent a few mas shootings.

No it wouldn't, and that would not be nearly quick enough for banners, the first shooting it two and they would want them confiscated by force. Only problem is getting someone to enforce it for them.

really? do you know how many machine shops and people who know how to run milling machines, lathes and drill presses there are in the USA? Home machine shops are more sophisticated than what was turning out Tommy Guns and BARs almost 100 years ago. Ever heard of a 3D printer? Do you think the rest of the world is going to stop making firearms? Do you think the federal and state governments are going to recall and stop issuing firearms to their employees?

explain how that would be accomplished and take into account "HIPPA" and doctor-patient privilege
