- Levi Tillemann“Pepper spray doesn’t cost much and it can be safely stored in a break glass in case of emergency cabinet. But it’s powerful and won’t accidentally kill a kid,” he continued. “Trust me, this will stop anybody in their tracks.”
The Democrat then proceeded to close his eyes and began spraying the pepper spray in his face. He’s later seen trying to wash off his face by dunking his head into water and spraying himself with a hose. “It’s incredibly painful, now I can’t see anything,” he said. “Wow, that’s intense.”

The distance pepper spray will reach, like mace, is dependent on the size and pressurization of the canister and the delivery mechanism.Maximum effectiveness for most pepper spray canisters is between four and fifteen feet away from the assailant. This short distances can give the advantage to a rapidly approaching aggressor. The desired target is the face, which can be difficult to hit on a moving target even when the attacker is closing the distance from 15 feet away.

You keep your pepper spray, in fact I think it's not a bad idea per say but if you think a can of pepper spray is going to frighten a shooter (most of whom plan on dying anyway) you're an idiot.

The old saying you don't bring a knife to a gun fight!

Well you don't bring pepper spray to a gun fight.

Would anyone want this screwball in congress? Sigh.......

I only carry pepper spray because I can't carry a gun in this "May Issue" leftist state of Maryland.

Well you don't bring pepper spray to a gun fight..

Wow, you admit that guns are deadlier than knives? I suppose they should have different requirements and restrictions based on that. Oops!

Unfortunately, we have idiots in Colorado who would vote for this guy...just because he pulled this stunt.

There's a reason cops carry pepper spray AND a gun.

That's one of the most dumbest stunts I have seen a politician pull. What an idiot.

So....how much trouble would I get in for carrying wasp spray? Hit someone in the face with that...I wager they'll go down. Die even. Do I need a license?

He's going to have to test police body armor to get my vote. ;)

Do you just discover that? Maybe you don't know but there are thousands of laws that regulate firearms.

Testing pepper spray is one thing. Check out the CEO testing their bulletproof windshield.

So regulation is constitutional and OK. Just confirming!

Not all regulation is Constitutional, nor is that a sufficient condition for new laws. Hope this helps.

If you want to start a gun thread there is a special place to start one!
This thread is about an idiot who sprayed himself in the face with mace. If you want to know what is constitutional read what the Supreme has ruled on in many different court cases.

I feel that the pistol that I carry daily gives me all the options that I want. When I am in a place where nothing else is allowed, I carry and aerosol because I believe that an aerosol is better than nothing.

I am now retired. Both me and my wife have Mace (not pepper spray). For me, I don't have enough room in my pockets to carry it comfortably any more (my right front pocket is now fully occupied). When I was working, my company forbade the carrying of firearms on company premises. I therefore carried Mace in my right front pocket. It gave me the most options of all the methods available to me.

If you do elect to carry an aerosol for self defense, don't forget to test it periodically; not a good situation to need it and find your canister is low or empty. You can test it at the same time you are practicing deploying and using it.

And they do, your point?

that's stupid and ignores the specific environment. in an elevator I'd rather have a knife than a rifle to deal with a violent criminal

a friend's son worked as a salesman for what was called "O'Gara, Hess and Eisenhardt Amoured vehicles years ago. This company was the company that made presidential limos. A wealthy arab wanted several vehicles that would withstand AK rounds So the boy called me up and asked if I had an AK-I said yeah. He borrowed it. The Sheik came in-and the boy's uncle-who owned the company (a vietnam fighter pilot) sat in the vehicle while his nephew shot the car 30 times.

The Sheik ordered several plus paid the 25G to get the first one fixed up. give my friend's son a nice tip (like five figures). I told him to keep the rifle. with commission and the tip it made him more than 20K

I can tell you from first hand experience that, while immensely painful, you can fight through it. In fact it doesn't take much motivation to fight through it.

Are you saying that having a gun in a fight makes you more lethal ?

Are you saying that facing a criminal in a fight would be less dangerous if he didn't have a gun ?

Obviously having a gun in a fight will make you more lethal, your point?
