When Guns are Good

Based on what you said here, all a random hunter would know is you believe you they deserve to be shot for what they do and you have a gun. (Which on a side note is both a motive and opportunity.) They may not know your mood on the day in question or how far you'd go, etc, etc. I am sure some would feel justifiably uneasy if they knew how you felt and what you are packing.

You're a pretty funny guy. Like your posts in the other thread - this one also doesn't make a lick of sense.

Isn't it a little early to be drinking? LOL

I and I suspect most people disagree. ethical hunters don't abuse animals. try again

Lol... "ethical hunters" do not abuse animals? :) I wonder if HowardBThiname would agree with you.

I am guessing back in the day, there were also "ethical slave owners" too... they would probably use the leash fewer times but harder, just to teach the slaves their lessons quicker, with fewer strikes.

Do you think that ethical hunting is animal abuse?

many gun banners are also anti hunting. I hope you don't eat meat or wear leather

Well she saved the cat but will do time in prison.
Self defense of the cat won't work... even in Texas.

Texas is the only state where you can legally protect property with lethal force.

(Unless other states have enacted that law recently)

Sorry that you did not get my point... I was pointing out the irony of it all...

Gun rights supporters would love for you to have a gun and believe it's a great thing for you to have guns. Yet, they are the ones most likely to suffer from you having those guns, if you happen to catch them hunt or be (what you think is) cruel to animals.

P.S. I hate animal cruelty too

??? This gun owner stopped a crime. She was successful.

The law may have other ideas but she used it properly and safely. (It's not intended to be safe for an attacker )

You said "Anyone who abuses animals deserves to be shot.". Hunting, which KILLs animals, clearly falls under the umbrella of animal "abuse". So, I assume hunters would be justifiably worried if you were around them during a hunt with your gun.

HUnting is no more abusive than the slaughtering of the meat on your table.

Actually less so, the animal feels little or no terror. Which is preferred and is a goal since that release of adrenaline into the meat can affect the flavor.

anecdotes? Did you not watch, Starship Troopers? The militia of the United States, has less excuse.

There are no hospices in the wilderness. Being shot is among the quickness, most humane ways for a wild animal to die. Starvation and disease are much less pleasant.

It all hinges on what she said when the cops came. Odds are, judging by the picture, she's not smart enough to keep her mouth shut and let her lawyer do the talking.

I can see an excited utterance. "He hurt my cat; so I shot him."

And, that would be a stupid thing to say.

Yep, and it would have been so easy to add an alleged direct threat - "As he was severely beating my cat, he said that I was next, so I shot him".

That or quit harming the cat when the wife said, "I'll shoot your ass, if you don't stop hurting my cat."

Isn't that a bit like telling people to stop going to church in order to prevent themselves from being shot ?

Well...I'd have to say that this lady put her firearm to good use.

It's probably still going to cost her though--20 years, at least.

But, was he a threat to the cat and was it disparity of force?
