Hahaha. That was a good clip. All that said, I'm for the rights of both cracker barrel honkies, paranoid black panthers, as well all other law abiding citizens in between to keep and bear arms.

Alright, that was pretty good!

"Where do you live?"

"That sounds like a background check!"

When in doubt portray those that disagree with you as racist.

Until you get shot by one.

There's a saying:

A conservative is a liberal who's just been mugged, and
A liberal is a conservative who'd just been busted by the police.

I wonder how many pro-gun parents of the Parkland victims became pro-gun control ?

none of the rational ones. emotional nonsense is the strongest argument the anti gun left banks on

As my post above shows, "rationality" is subjective.

Having your child/children shot in school will open up a completely different POV.

Probably about the same amount that decided to arm themselves. Or maybe less.

are you in a position to state that personally or are you making it up

I shot a mugger-maybe if a couple assholes jumped you in an alley and smashed you in the face you'd do what I did-shoot one of them. it was easier and less bloody then my other alternative, doing a few clock pattern drills on each of them with a knife

You mean arm their children and send them to school packing a weapon ?

Somehow I don't think so.

Though every mass shooting (especially those done with an AR-15 type platform) sees the price of AR-15's rise.

If my house was invaded and I survived, you bet I'd want a gun.

However I don't think US civilization has broken down to that degree yet (on a side note, how can you pull a gun if you've been smashed in the face?)

Certain types of people arm themselves with an arsenal of powerful guns...in the same way that they buy trucks and other vehicles with way more power/speed than they'd ever need.

To quote a lady I know..."they're compensating".

No, arm themselves

Not this year. Anderson lowers never went out of stock and have been on sale down to $39.99 at least three times since the Parkland shooting. PSA has similar pricing. Complete rifles can still be had for under $500.

Really ?

I know someone at a former place of work who paid close to $1500 for his AR-15 (though it came with a scope and second pistol grip and a couple of other extras).

that's because the anti gun movement and their leaders in congress, howl for bans as a pavlovian reaction. if Democrats didn't scream for bans, there wouldn't be a rush to buy them

yep, after the election when the gun banning Hillary was defeated, Anderson lowers-made less than an hour from my home were down to that level. Good AR 15s such as PSAs, Andersons, CMMGs and other decent brands were around 500 bucks. top of the line rigs with say Gieselle or Timney Triggers and some of the fancier hand guards drive the cost way up. most receivers are pretty much the same but the hand guard/rails can be as cheap as 30 dollar military surplus ones to 300 dollar M-Lock or Key-Mod rails. expensive barrels such as chrome lined match barrels drive up the cost too

It might've been a Wilson Combat. They're pricy but you get what you pay for.

There are AR-15s and scopes that cost that now. Without details, your post is just anecdotal. Heck, a really good 1-8x scope would cost most than $1500 by itself.
