Understanding the disarmament mentality

Not necessarily. At some point you will get diminishing returns

"Diminishing returns" still implies a greater number. It doesn't imply negative growth. If a 3 day waiting period saves lives, then a 10 day waiting period would still save more lives - all of those saved in the first three days plus some additional number saved in days 4-10. Otherwise, you're claiming that the suicide rate would increase with a longer waiting period. Are you making that claim?

No. We could gradually reduce the speed limit and save lives too. Right?

So the longer the waiting period, the more lives that would be saved. We know that Australia and Canada have 28 day waiting periods, and they still have gun suicides, and that New Jersey has a 30 day waiting period, and they still have gun suicides. It seems that if we want to save lives, we should have as long of a waiting period as possible, like maybe even infinite.

Otherwise we're back to "To not want to use gun control to help save their lives is criminal".

We know that the speed limit could be five MPH in a place and there still could be traffic deaths. Maybe the speed limit should be zero.

And so it goes with your silly logic. LOL

It isn't my logic, it's yours. If you don't feel that an infinite waiting period is the goal, then you're admitting that finite waiting period is sufficient, and that any lives that would be lost to suicide after that time that a longer waiting period could have prevented fall into the category of lives you don't care about.

If you are saying that you don't feel a zero speed limit is the goal....

Your logic is hilarious

You are lying.....again

Heh, and you couldnt point out where.

Remember: lying only leads to vegassing, not discussion.

It's the best indication that you've failed in a discussion.

We're talking about gun control; specifically, your claim that "To not want to use gun control to help save their lives is criminal." You endorse waiting periods as a type of gun control to save lives, and more specifically to save lives from suicides.

What, in your opinion, is a sufficient waiting period on firearms that would save all of the people you care about?

Are you now claiming that not wanting to use traffic control to help save lives is criminal? If so, I'm sure there's a forum for that discussion.

Yup. And that's why I want to know, if saving lives is so important to you, why you dont support (as asked in the past) a national speed limit of 35 mph? It would save 10s of thousands of lives...many more than are lost to gun violence every year.

I believe we should try to save every life we can. And to do that we have to balance rights and responsibilities. We want to save kids lives so we make school zones for traffic and we set the speed limit at 15 mph. We could set it at 5 mph...but we don't. We try to find a reasonable number (the community decides what is reasonable).

Many communities have decided that a three or 7 day waiting period is a reasonable balance. I agree with them.

Your logic is hilariously flawed

Is saving lives not important to you? Really?

Huh?...

I didnt write that, so the answer is yes, saving lives is important to me.

Again: that time out may be a good idea for you right now...you are unable to read properly.

Oh good. Welcome aboard. LOL

So when are you gonna hop aboard the "ban all knives, blunt objects, sharp objects, etc." bandwagon... That would save lives too!!!!! =)

Cause you think TurtleDude will only call people who disagree gun grabbers? He's literally trying to defend a right that the bill of rights has given us.

And the poster calls anyone who even suggest gun control as gun banners, its a dual edged sword. TD even sold his political soul to Trump, including his so called fiscally conservative attitude all for the NRA ass kisser called Trump. So much for swamp draining, now there is one lobby that conservatives give a reach around every time, no matter which politician they buy off, including the Liar in Chief.

There are restrictions on those things too. LOL

On what exactly? I can go to the store and buy a knife without a waiting period or anything else of the sort... same with a baseball bat... same with one of those glass window shatter contraptions... same with a crowbar... etc. etc.

Just ask the TSA. LOL

what in God's name would have implied to you I would vote for Hillary? I said LONG BEFORE TRUMP was the nominee that I'd vote for ROAD KILL before I'd vote for Hillary

and tell me who would be on the USSC NOW instead of Gorsuch if Hillary had been elected?
