We need to have our own Arab Spring to demand gun control

AA, italicizing the word kids doesn't give you any more credibility. Kind of the opposite.

Railing against the NRA isn't going to stop anything, any more than "thoughts and prayers" will. We know this because both methods have been tried, and kids are still dying. Therefore, if you're actually a progressive, you should be eliminating both of these as being unworthy of your time.

Sorry, AA, I know you mean well, and I totally acknowledge you have a reason to be very concerned...so am I, but what you're advocating for is ineffective, knee jerk, and ultimately won't solve the problem, so therefore is unprogressive.

Do you have any other ideas you might want to put out as a solution?

You advocate to;

a) Shut down peaceful and lawful assembly

b) Burn the constitution

c) pile on more Race Baiting and hate on "white males".

d) destroy or disrupt lawful businesses you disagree with.

I think the world has already seen this form of government before.

HISTORICAL FACT: One of your types already did this in the midwest prior to the civil war. He was giving a speech in Indiana and said because of slavery the US constitution was useless and he pulled out a copy and burned it in front of the crowd. Just like what you are saying.

They strung him up from the closest tree.

COMMON SENSE POINT: If i hated some masters of martial arts, i sure as hell would not break into their dojo and start stirring up trouble. I don't think you thought this post through very well. These hated "white males" are much better shots than you are. This is why i do not stir up trouble with martial arts masters.

But I think we all know you only made this thread to stir up some emotions and inflame, & nothing more...right?

If you are GENUINELY CONCERNED about children's lives you would advocate for vehicle safety and WATER SAFETY.

So many more kids drown each and every day, yet i do not see you handing out life preservers.
Could it be your only issue is GUNS and has nothing to do with children's lives? Only using that as an emotional excuse to forward an agenda?

So when are you scheduled to give your next lecture on water safety for children at the Coast Guard Auxiliary?

I agree with you, but I think, unlike you, OlNate, .....he just wants to be angry without actually solving anything.
PROGRESSIVE, to me, means movement forward, like my favorite progressive president, Teddy Roosevelt.
He "progressed" forward to give us the FDA, National parks, monopoly breakups, and the Panama canal.
He also never once thought destroying the fabric of America was the way to do it.

Personally, I think AA just made this thread to inflame and is not serious about anything he wrote or advocated.

If we have a government that paints gun owners as traitors, and seeks to use the military to enforce gun laws, it won't be under a Republican administration.

More ignorance. To take a stand against our govt, people would not use guns...there are plenty of other means to do so, many outlined in fiction and non-fiction. Asymmetrical warfare works pretty well.

The firearms are for self-defense for the people the govt believes involved in that struggle.

The US doesnt wage war with guns today....it uses intel, drones, bombs, etc. But every soldier carries a gun...for personal protection.

See? New information can be a good thing!

Yes and that is another factor. Believing that the majority of soldiers (and cops) would turn against family and friends...and their own beliefs.

Just another point.
"Their type" are NOT normal gun control advocates who want to use constitutional and legal means to affect change as they see fit.
I do not see them as a threat. I see them in a foxhole right alongside me if we are attacked my some foreign power.
I can see some gun nuts i know running, but not too far, for the hills. Few I know can run 1,000 yards nonstop.
I can also see some hippie-type "tree huggers" being very skilled at recon.
They may not like guns, but they sure know to skulk their way around the woods.

"their type" are the anarchists like the OP who toss rule of law aside to affect change as they see fit.
"their type' are also those that make up crap on sensitive subjects just to sit back and watch the on-line bickering.

However, on THIS THREAD, I see pretty much EVERYONE disagreeing with him.

Firstly, there is no "we". Our populations are "it, the public". In reality, most Americans, may be all Americans have no idea of what it takes to form a "we".

Ummm, the right to courts that will provide constitutional justice is a need that protects children more than removing Americans self protection from crime or government that is infiltrated and working towards absolute dominance.

If you are so damned concerned about children, I need to see your work to protect our air and water which is a long term need for all of us and the government is deeply complicit in the destruction of unalienable rights, meaning Americans have a lawful need to alter or abolish.

Hopefully, the 1st Amendment will prevail with a lawful and peaceful alteration or abolishment before the 2nd is required to retain our rights and freedoms

People need to understand what it takes to make a lawful "we" as in "we the people" and this occupy nonsense only divides and gives corrupt gov a reason to takes peoples rights.

Are you aware that the 1st and 9th Amendment came from the First Nations Iroquois confederacy? Their wisdom was deeply honored by the framers when those rights were integrated into the constitution.

There were numerous individuals during the Civil War who fought against members of their own family, especially in the border states.

Calling the South a seperate "country" is somewhat pushing it given that no one recognized them as independent.

The point stands that just because somebody's family is for something doesn't prohibit them fighting for an opposing cause.
