That cold be said of any firearm. An AR15 has been used in a school mass shooting twice in the 54 years US citizens have owned them. In both attacks fewer people were killed than in the Virginia Tech shooting where a madman with a pair of handguns killed 31.

Not according to the highest court in the US, and not according to our history. It's never been treated as a collective right by the government.
