Charlize Theron Is An Idiot

"Waiting periods for firearm acquisition. Waiting periods for firearm acquisition require a specified delay between application for and acquisition of a firearm. Waiting periods have been established by the federal government and by states to allow time to check the applicant's background or to provide a "cooling-off" period for persons at risk of committing suicide or impulsive acts against others. Studies of the effects of waiting periods on violent outcomes yielded inconsistent results: some indicated a decrease in violent outcome associated with the delay and others indicated an increase. As noted previously, one study of the interim Brady Law indicated a statistically significant reduction in firearms suicide among persons aged >55 years associated with the waiting period requirement of the interim law. Several studies suggested a partial "substitution effect" for suicide (i.e., decreases in firearms suicide are accompanied by smaller increases in suicide by other means)"

So in other words while it's not a cure all solution it certainly helps, and indeed nothing you posted is weakens the case in any way.

No, it doesn't appear to prevent crime at all.

What is a "reasonable" waiting period, and how does it affect those who already own firearms?

Sounds like you're blaming the victim.

I am very against women remaining in the home/relationship and remaining victims.

That's not what your quote said--- it said that there were inconsistent effects, but there were definite effects.

One could craft one by viewing various already implemented waiting period programs and implementing one as close to the most effective one as possible.

A waiting period also allows people to check up on those who already had guns and ensure they didn't have a psychotic snap or decided to join a radical group.

did you see his argument for it-if you are law abiding you will follow the law-no argument what good the law would do-it appears his support for the law is only to harass the law abiding

My God what a pathetic argument. Lets get rid of the fourth amendment too. the check is done instantly these days-what do you want-the police interrogating family members every time someone wants to buy a gun? These authoritarian cravings are disturbing-at least

Yes, I bet you are "disturbed" by any sort of process to ensure whatever nut wants a lethal weapon can't easily get one.

The "law abiding" who apparently have no interest in following a law they don't like? Hmm....seems there's a major flaw in your premise.

Nothing like this happens during a waiting period. The "pass" happens almost immediately. The rest is just a delay.

Your statement was literally just whining how you think everyone is being mean and oppressing you "honest folks" and that it's a-ok because you haven't murdered anyone.

You went on to draw a false comparison to driving.

Except you folks wrap yourselves in the 2nd Amedment and place your actions on a pedestal.....as I repeatedly stated

LOL Not a whine in sight from me.

You have no numbers, no solutions, no answers...you are the one whining...and unable to support your opinion.

Clearly that would change in this hypothetical newly formed system that I would create in this hypothetical "Tigerace117 is in charge of the gun laws" universe.

......As you whine about it.

Clearly you don't possess even basic reading comprehension, as the post right above yours involves a poster debating part of a proposed solution.

you're lying yet again. I am against stupid laws that people pretend are going to stop crime when their real motives are to incrementally dissolve the second amendment rights.

Asking someone on discussion forum to provide sources for their opinions and claims is not whining. Perhaps you need some kind of "Getting Started on the Internet" guide?

And calling them out for their inability to do so isnt whining either. (Check Chapter 2 in the guide)

Please rejoin *the discussion* when you have some data to *discuss*. (That's how it works...see Chapter 3)

you have to justify passing a law first. You don't get to pass laws just to force people to obey them.

He apparently is clueless about that fact. Nothing else is done. The background check is the same you get when a cop pulls you over for a traffic stop.

LOL no kidding. And he doesnt even have the data to show it would fix anything.

Same with numbers about cc permit holders harming anyone out in public...where are the numbers? How often is that occurring? About a thousand times less than drivers harming people out on the roads. But "oooo, panties in a bunch" over guns....for no reason that he can verify.

when you see anti gun advocates screaming for more laws and you press them for why their schemes will work and they have no real answer you know TWO things

1) their real motivation is not crime control or they would have arguments in favor of that at the ready

2) they haven't been thinking about crime control since they don't know much about it-rather their goal is anti gun owner-mainly for political purpose

I read it. Little is new to anyone that's studied human evolution and biology.

OTOH, what it did sound like is that more promiscuous women would be attracted to aggressive men when ovulating.

You're all more prone to seek out the psychopath, when you're ovulating, that's the point. That's why you want to get knocked up by the lad with the gun, 'cause he has the capacity to slaughter the other boys. And often does. Aparently, that is so sexy. Why do you think some girls leave Fortress Europe to go shag ISIS boys?

(This one should've hanged. Now the next load of army mattresses will follow her...)

Not that women in relationships (good or bad) went looking for that.

Uuunless they do. Why do you think every girl show on tele always has two boys, the lead character can't possibly choose between? The safe bet her parents will accept, and the baaad boy? 'Cause the bad boy is the one her reptilian brain wants to be impregnated by, while the safe and sweet boy she needs to raise the child with. There's a huge difference betwen what type of man a woman wants, depending on where she is in her menstrual cycle. Look around you, how many dads do you know with sons, that just doesn't look like him?

And if the woman CHOOSES that relationship then she chose poorly and needs to leave.

Yeah, but they never do. "He apologiiized..."

A lot of them will claim they didn't have a choice. When they went to that ****ed up biker bar all on their own accord. That very Thursday she was in heat.

And that's why the boys need them guns. 'Cause death makes girls on the pull horny. Why do you think the boys headbutt each other around a frickin' dance club?

Charlize Theron has said that more guns is not the solution and that the idea of arming teachers is outrageous. She is saying this because she "lost her father to gun violence," although under the circumstances I wouldn't say that's the best way to put it. Her dad was a drunk and this one time when he was drunkedly attacking her mom, her mom shot him in self defense. If anything I would say its a good thing her mom was armed in that situation. Charlize lost her dad not because of guns but because her dad was a drunken loser. Her dad did this to himself and she should blame him not guns.

Anti2nd amendment trash try to include suicides and self defense killings in with homicides to make it seems as though more people are losing their lives to gun violence. When in reality self defense killings and suicides are not gun violence. Because one is being used to stop the violence of someone else while the other is intentionally self inflicted.

It's more complicate than that and I tried to keep it concise in my last post.

I'm not particularly interested in going into it further and to discuss in generalizations (as I tried) will only get more of this crap you posted picking it apart for the 'what ifs.'

Women have the ability to keep themselves from *remaining* victims in abusive situations....and need to do more to get out of them.

I have my own eyes in my head.

And yet Melania sticks around.

Why do you think men are pigs? 'Cause then they win. Your gender is still ****ing them.
