Will it matter?

Probably. After all, these are all future voters. So, if the GOP does not want a permanent trip to the irrelevance of NowhereLand, they will respond. Of course, knowing them, they will first try to change the voting age back to 21 or 25 or something  j/k

They'll probably push to require more stringent address verification for voters instead.

I'd like to be the first to welcome school kids into their first political activity. Let me welcome them into becoming AstroTurf for the anti-gun democrats.

Kids that aren't corralled by teachers are going to go to the mall or to friends houses and do what unsupervised high school kids do.. Those that are corralled by teachers are being forced to attend. If it was on a weekend and voluntary, no one would show up.

These kids should be in school, and the teachers should be in school with them rather than using them as props in a national issue that is way over the head of most high school students.

You are correct this walk out will probably get some results. Teachers with guns, bump stock ban, national conceal carry, will all catch hold.

Their dreams of banning items they don't like or infringing upon other peoples rights will meet stronger opposition.

Next years walkout will be to protest the accomplishments of this one.

Really??!!! These kids walked out of school. Once they did that they could go anywhere they wanted. Do you think the teachers took a roll call? Are they going to put the kids who aren't there in detention? Get Real. Those kids are demonstrating because that's what they want to do. They're not being manipulated by evil teachers and they're not being forced to do anything.

Why not? if these kids think they are to stupid to safely handle a gun until 21, why should voting be any different? Voting has killed a lot more than school shooters ever have

Some will but to most its a day off. Were parents even consulted as to whether or not they wanted their child to become someone's AstroTurf?

Personally, a sign in front of every school that says "Firearms may exist in this building" would do more than all the crack pot ideas so far.

Any time you want to post documentation for your assumptions (that isn't from a wacko source) feel free to do so.

So they are not adult enough to be able to exercise their 2nd amendment rights but they are adult enough to vote?

Old enough to vote against guns, the way it looks. :)

I just passed a local vocational HS on the way in to the office. I'm not sure if the kids were protesting but a bunch of them were hanging out in the parking lot staring at their phones.

Yeah...NRA's stooges certainly are that.

so in your well reasoned and learned opinion, NRA members who are mainly dedicated gun owners are more deluded than HS kids who think that banning guns will stop premeditated killers from harming them?

NRA is a gun manufacturer's lobby. Plain and simple. So, useful idiots applies perfectly.

yeah that is the current talking point from those who are neither members nor who have a clue. Its the best lie you all can come up with.

No one votes against guns, they vote against the right to have them, they vote for infringements.

No. They vote for sensible gun control. The opposite side votes for insensible limitless access to all sorts of nutty weapons and ammo.

So long as they are opposed to my rights I care not what they think.

Even if true (its not) do you think I care WHY someone defends my rights?

most gun banners are lefties so their anti corporate rants are consistent with their anti capitalist dogma

Fact's a fact: NRA is a gun manufacturers' lobby.

you tell two lies in that post

Banning common firearms or registering guns is hardly sensible. The NRA has lead the push to increasing sentences for felons caught with firearms. Of course liberal gun banners don't like that-criminals aren't their enemies

The five million individual members disagree with you. you are just lying

btw the anti gun movement is the violent criminals' lobby-violent felons want disarmed victims

Well, more people prefer someone defend their right not to be shot at work by some gun nut who bought a dozen legal guns, a 1000 rounds of ammo, a bulletproof vest, laser sights, and god knows what the **** else.

Time has come for that side to win. And, they will. Do you have any idea how large the upcoming generation is? And, guess what. They aren't going to be Republicans. We know that already. :)

Five million useful idiots. Yes. We are well aware of them. After all, they do make a lot of noise.
