Why my next gun, will be an AR-15 or a varient

"All the neat accessories"

Just dont put too much **** on your AR, you'll be surprised at what you ACTUALLY need and what will end up just making the weapon more cumbersome.

"biggest mag I can find"

Sounds to me like "the most jammable mag I can find"

A standard 30 round clip will do you fine, and you get extra points for loading it with only 29 bullets, trust me. ;)

Neat is limited to the ones I want, and biggest magazine was more a tweak at the people that think a gun should be single shot. :p

We'll have to discuss this. I'm looking to make the purchase after my Surgery in June, if you still have it....

Sitting in the safe. I can put together a package.
I have about 6 -30 rounds mags, a vest to carry them, sight adjustment tools and others, bayonet, ect, ect.
Make you look like Rambo at the range or in the woods.
If you are interested in reloading I can share with you the most accurate recipe for the rifle and throw in a set of dies and LCC (military) brass.
Good luck with the surgery and be safe, my friend.

Personally my favorite magazine is the 20 round. The 30 rounders (as well as the 40 round I own) jut too far down to accurately shoot the rifle from prone position

best available 20 round? Lancer

I like the larger mag's for when I'm shooting targets, just to avoid reloading. I know I know... lazy but hey.

I would like to make it clear, I will be buying an AR rifle in the near future. I want one with the biggest magazine I can find. I want one that looks good, has all the accessories I can afford, I can put a scope on.

Why?

Three reasons.

1. I have a shotgun for home defense, and that's a good weapon for that, but I've always felt a second more deplayable rifle would be ideal.

2. We WILL one day move to Idaho, (****ing company sell already...) and we're going to buy some land, I love to shoot.

3. I've always wanted one, they are fun to shoot, look good, and are handy in a variety of situations, from fun shooting targets, to hunting to home defense.

I'd like to ask those of you that own an AR, what's the best gun to meet my needs?

Why stop with just one?

"VanceMack" had a good suggestion about building your own but that may take more time & patience than most people have.
Only you know what you want but I would start with one of the very reasonably priced "Entry Level" models such as the S&W M&P15 which goes for around $600- & fires the .223 / 5.56. That way you'll have something to familiarize yourself with while you build one in a different caliber if you chose to do so.

I would stick with rifles that fire commonly available calibers that are less expensive to shoot & would be easier to find in bulk, tracer and A.P. (5.56, .308 etc)

As far as magazines, I wouldn't limit yourself to 30 rd. mags unless you want to stock up on them for investment purposes. 20 rd. magazines are not as unwieldy & easier to use while sighting in on a bench rest.
If you must have a "big mag", there are also 100rd. drum mag.s made for the AR but I wouldn't buy one.
Good luck & have fun

Hundred round barrells are for serious steam letting off :p

I wouldn't mind building my own, but after I get my house, and have a nice place to work on, the tools and a good storage option.
