Why do you "need" an AR 15? [W243, 2001]

Re: Why do you "need" an AR 15? [W243]

Everyone all together Bull****. They are called inalienable rights. Which has absolutely nothing to do with you saying The Constitution doesn't grant rights; it limits government. The constitution does grant rights. Your wrong . I mean really it's called the bill of rights,

Show be where the phrase "Bill of Rights" is used in the first ten amendments.

Is that an official Colt website and finding some random ads on the internet will never substantiate your orginal statement that all ads used the phrase "assault weapon" as I have already demonstrated was a misrepresentation.
Never said that .

Adam's Arms does not call their semi-automatic rifles assault weapons.
Nobody does now, I think You understood that. They changed only because they wanted to make the gun less threatening , you know playing word games to lie or distort the facts. pretty much the same routine of all you gun Bubbas.

Re: Why do you "need" an AR 15? [W243]

Where does the Supreme Court get the jurisdiction over the first ten amendments?
The Courts can interpret the constitution , the court can regulate guns the court has regulated guns and the court will regulate guns in the future

You have provided zero evidence that they did.

"Conservatives in media have adopted the false National Rifle Association claim that the term “assault weapon” was invented by proponents of assault weapons bans in order to arbitrarily single out certain firearms for further regulation. However, before the gun industry trade association attempted to rebrand assault weapons as “modern sporting rifles” in 2009 — a change in terminology also adopted by the NRA — the gun industry and firearm publications routinely used the term assault weapon to describe the very military-style semi-automatic rifles that would be covered by Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s assault weapons ban.

[…]

The truth is that military-style semi-automatic rifles were called assault weapons because that is what gun manufacturers and gun enthusiasts called them. The term has played a key role in the ongoing effort of the gun industry to rebrand and market military-style weaponry to civilians. Now, as legislation supported by a majority of Americans has been proposed to ban these weapons, the NRA and its gun industry and media allies are using semantics and terminology arguments to downplay the dangers of a class of weapons often associated with horrific mass shootings and law enforcement killings." https://www.politicususa.com/2015/12/06/apparently-call-name-assault-weapons.html

You do know that not only is there nothing in your link factual, there is nothing at politicsusa factual.

The US military:

Assault rifles are short, compact, selective-fire weapons that fire a cartridge intermediate in power between submachinegun and rifle cartridges. Assault rifles have mild recoil characteristics and, because of this, are capable of delivering effective full-automatic fire at ranges up to 300 meters.

One major issue to consider when addressing limiting a person's right(s) to inanimate objects - it is not the object that acts with intent, it is the person wielding it; be it for good or ill. Considering the aforementioned AR-15. The weapon itself cannot cause any harm to anyone or anything - it is an inanimate object. A person could scream at it, insult it, belittle it in any fashion, but the weapon remains inanimate. An honest person could use the weapon for defense or target practice, without causing harm to anyone. However, a person with intent to harm could take that same weapon and do unspeakable harm - unfortunately, this has been done, but it was NOT at the intent of the weapon. The solution to gun control is not limiting an honest person's right(s), but needs to be geared at preventing disreputable people from abusing the weapon. There are a variety of potential solutions, stripping honest people of their rights should NOT be one of them.
