A new gun in my life

Well I went to academy and the AK shotgun I wanted just went off sale but they told me they had just gotten something in that morning so I bought it.

Liberals will really want to ban this when they figure out it’s much more dangerous than ARs in close quarters

Just purchased an Bushmaster AR-15 with 30 round clip. Do I need it? Probably not, because I have other guns. But I wanted to get it before sales of them are outlawed by Donald Trump and the Democrats. Most likely, I will never have to use it, but it's nice to know that I have nothing to fear from a home invader.

t.j. said when the government fears the people there is liberty, when the people fear the government there is tyranny. that should be the first reason for a u.s. citizen to purchase a weapon. not home defense.

But - what if the home invader has an AR15 or an M4?

As Carl Malden said, "What will you do; what will you do?"

If we are all cc permit holders...is that necessary? We've had our background checks and if we pick up firearms from an FFL only need to show that...no background check is run. Same for at gunshows of a certain org. here WAC).

Yeah we were aware of all that except I didnt realize you had to have the background check because of going to people's places and practicing, for example.

It's a total bull**** law that cannot be enforced so it's really annoying.

Yeah, we should all carry; why not?

https://cjrc.osu.edu/research/interdisciplinary/hvd/homicide-rates-american-west

To appreciate how violent the West was, we need to consider not only the annual homicide rate, but the risk of being murdered over time. For instance, the adult residents of Dodge City faced a homicide rate of at least 165 per 100,000 adults per year, meaning that 0.165 percent of the population was murdered each year—between a fifth and a tenth of a percent. That may sound small, but it is large to a criminologist or epidemiologist, because it means that an adult who lived in Dodge City from 1876 to 1885 faced at least a 1 in 61 chance of being murdered—1.65 percent of the population was murdered in those 10 years.

He'll die. Actually, I got the AR-15 for hunting. It's very good for it. For hunting, I only use a 5 round mag, because if I can't kill a deer with 5 rounds, I shouldn't be hunting. LOL.

Aside from stability and capacity, a rifle in close quarters doesn't provide that much of an advantage.

Or a Mini14 RanchRifle, or an M1 carbine?

If Donald Trump keeps his word he will not be in favor of outlawing AR-15 style rifles.

Actually both of you can kill each other through the walls of your house without seeing each other.

Have you used a 223/5.56 on deer? How about an AR??? It's adequate at the VERY best. The average AR does 1.5moa, the average bolt gun can do under 1 minute. My old savage FP10 with it's crappy barrel, crappy stock and POS trigger group did .75 MOA easily and under .5 moa if I did my part with a well coppered barrel.

Now I've been hunting deer/coyotes/feral hogs for decades. Only one deer, the biggest I ever shot took more than one round, ever took more than one step.

All but one was taken with a 308, the one exception was a 257 AI which is a YUGE leap over the 223 and it drop dead right there.

The feral hogs with a 308 DPMS, they come in a passel and I want to hit as many as possible before they make it back into the woods. but I see it as varmint control not 'hunting'...

I'd recommend at least 6.5mm for adult deer hunters if you want to hunt out past rock throwing range, and the 308 if you want to hunt feral hogs as well... :peace
