I don't recall a "bumpstock" style weapon being used in the Florida shooting, yet Trump now opposes such a weapon. Where was Trump's objection to this weapon AFTER the Las Vegas shooting where one of these weapons was actually used?

Coincidently, I believe the NRA is supoortive of this as well. I wonder if Trump decided to "go against" the NRA on background checks and age limits before or after he had lunch with them this past weekend?....LMAO

Trump is smart like a **** house rat. He's made his entire career making mediocrity sound POSH. With the low information voter all they will hear is that he was a brave guy for taking on the NRA.

In the end, the question has to be 'how many LESS children will be slaughtered?

He's a real expert at working the Media. Perception is everything and he will control the narrative.

I dont get the idea that the NRA cares much about Bump-Stocks, they gotta give up something in negotiations and this they can part with.

Draining the Swamp. Ignoring the kids and meeting with the gun lobby...vintage Trump.
I wonder if he also told that NRA kook that "I'd have gone into that school!".

What a lunch that must have been.

He has spent this life striving for excellence.

So do you find yourself in agreement with president Trump and support him in trying to get such devices banned? Or are you so anti Trump that you would advocate keeping them legal just to oppose Trump's position?

Nice move, but it's actually pretty easy to duck, since banning firearms and firearm accessories won't solve the issue of mass shootings anyway. Most mass shootings did not involve a bump stock. Feels like lip service to actually tackling the problem to me...

I feel the same way about the supposed assault rifle ban. It's lip service to avoid tackling the real problems in our society.

A few months ago many on this board wanted to see such a ban on bump stocks. Now that Trump has picked it up those same folks are walking back their position on how effective such a ban would be.

Personally I think it's a throw position. Pro 2nd folks cab say they did something without giving in on much and the anti rights crowd can claim a victory in getting some weapons of war banned without accomplishing much of anything.

until the next one

and see what these kids muster on 24Mar.

Yup, and in the meantime you're no closer to getting to a solution. People need to stop talking about banning things, like there isn't already a ton out there that will never be surrendered. That ship sailed a long time ago. Now you need to manage your society so that people don't snap off and use the (300 million+) guns that are already out there. Or stop complaining about it, and accept the losses.
