The NRA Leadership is Unhinged Paranoids

I'd like to see even a hint of proof on that

I already showed you it on a previous threat. You then used the "but Ruby Ridge" argument. I pointed out the many, many idiotic things, beginning with deciding to have a shootout with his family in the middle of it, Weaver did.

You fled after that.

When an organization features an ad that ends with the words, "the clenched fist of truth," you know you are dealing with weirdness. At least Dana wasn't wearing a brown shirt. Nice match to Trump's Stalinesque "enemies of the people" line.

Just dumb dishonesty catering to dumb dishonest people.

The "its too soon to talk about it" is complete and utter bull****. or the "want to politicize an event or tragedy". That's like saying we shouldn't talk about improving weather detection after a natural disaster, or shouldnt' talk about regulations for oil drilling and transport after an oil spill. Or pretty much many other laws put into place after bad things happened

This guys says it best

What countries should we learn from? France? Belgium? Russia? Turkey? They all have strong gun laws.

I live in the U.K. our last mass shooting was Dunblane in 1996. After this tragedy we took swift action and tightened up our gun laws. Our recent statistics showed that 700 homicides occurred in the U.K. last year. Compare that to the 17000 in the US. Now tell me that gun control doesn’t work!

Actually your last mass shooting was 2010 in Cumbria. 12 dead with a 5 shot .22 rifle and a double barrel 12 bore.

Your homicide rate, in comparison to that of the US, was 1/10 ours before 1996. The current ratio is only 1/5.

You guys are so good at solving everybody eleses problems, why not use your solutions to help the flagging democratic party whose numbers are down so significantly after Obama ran all the good democrats off and bankrupted, in so many ways, the party?

Oh yeah, that's what originally led to the problems.

We prefer our deflection attempts to be a little more subtle, thenkyouveddymuch.

Actually, I meant last mass shooting in a school. And having a homicide rate 5 times greater per capita than another country is nothing to be proud of.

its hard to believe that what really motivates the anti gun advocates is trying to stop armed criminals when 95% of their complaints are directed against the NRA. its why the anti gun movement is 95% left wing

The NRA might start losing some of their core base, the less committed ones anyway, if they keep referring to grieving upper-middle-class white Southern women as 'ratings gold'.

Anything that restricts the sales of weaponry or ammunition or gun accessories are contrary to the interests of the gun manufacturing industry, therefore, any gun restrictions are contrary to the ideals of the NRA.

The gun industry owns the NRA much like the NRA owns many of our politicians.

All things considered, I wouldn't expect Mr. Loony Tunes to act no different.

But I have to admit. He DOES make the NRA look pretty stupid. That's just a side-affect of him doing his job though.

It has been my observation that the more extreme gun nutters I know are somewhat unhinged and definitely paranoid. Those are the people in the room he is addressing.

But please don't confuse the NRA nutters with the rest of us more sensible gun owners. They do not represent us.

It's painfully clear to everyone at this point that federal, state, and county officials cannot protect our students.
I can assure you that we are currently working from the ground up through Home Rule at our schools.

We are addressing the times of greatest density flow of students in and out of the building.
We are developing neighborhood watch groups across the Nation.

No sporting event in this Nation is safe without metal detectors that we see at major college and pro events.
And to think these gun people are also against banning plastic guns.

It will be difficult to get our people to accept metal detectors.
I have already offered to pay for them.
We will protect our students from WoWs, AKa, WMDs ...

Last time I checked we don’t live in another country, so like I said, stop bitching and let’s hear you’re idea of how to stop it.
1- corporal punishment back in schools
2- prayer back in school ( we are a Christian based country.)
3- stop giving slaps on the wrist for gun crimes.

What’s your idea. Take a deep breath of unicorn farts and give it your best shot!

Corporal punishment? Listen, shangles, I never once raised my hand to a kid, mine or anyone elses, and if anyone, a teacher or school principal or anyone else ever raised theirhand to my kid, well...
And as for prayers in school, that's about the dumbest idea I've read in days and there's been some duesy's here lately.

Sure they do. Because the fact is...unless you are willing to give up your guns...your interests don’t align with the Democrats. Period. Don’t believe me? Do you own a handgun? They have tried to ban them. How about a rifle with more than 10 rounds? Banned? Shotguns? Yep. The fact is there are Democrats who want to ban every type of firearm. And YOU benefit from the lobbying NRA does against these jackasses. Why? Because there is never enough gun control for Democrats. They will blame the gun every time someone pulls the trigger and it doesn’t matter what the 2nd amendnement says.

And the big issue is that the Democrats have never had the ability to amend the constitution. So they push this incrementalist crap. And people like you get the wool pulled over your eyes because you are gullible enough to believe they will stop with someone else’s guns.

The NRA was hijacked by right wing political extremists decades ago with the infamous Cincinatti Revolt.

As if you were ever one of us or give a ****, no one bought your lies when you first arrived here at DP and that's why you cried about not knowing our "secret handshake"

The are now a paid lobby for gun manufacturers and dealers and serve as a funding and grass roots boots on the ground force for far right wing politics.

Even if that were true, which it isn't, do you think I give a **** why someone defends my rights from the likes of you?

Even most of their members disagree with the radical right wing leadership posting on many issues and polls demonstrate this conclusively.

Who would have guessed it would be a mass of HS students to rattle not only the Right, but the NRA.

I rest my case......

Sure, sure. Keep paying your membership fee, swallow whatever they feed you, and vote the way they tell you. Unquestioning faith in the NRA will undoubtedly keep them honest.

Yeah.

Nice cartoonization that, besides its inherent silliness, is also way way off. I do own a 9mm, but try not to ever be a part of any dues paying anythings that specific...being generally a conservative's about as specific as I want to be, thanks. So No, guess I am just a weee bit more independent than you, the proclaimed Indie.

At some point they realized that a good scare drives up sales. At some point they shifted focus from defending the 2A to repeatedly convincing their membership that liberals were about to shut down sales and go door to door confiscating guns.

Oh, I'm sure the lines will be long down at Cabela's this weekend. Works every time.

If anyone is to blame for the gun sales going up its the Nancy Pelosis, Diane Fienstiens and other anti-2ndamendment politicians and anti-2nd amendment trash in the media trying to push for bans. People tend to believe those politicians when they say they want to ban certian semi-automatic firearms.

So true. I've got an in-law, he and his brother went into business. One opened a gun store, one opened a fishing store.
The fishing store owner sees gulf spills, limits on redfish, etc., etc., a constant stream of legislation that hurts his business.
The other sees constant *discussion* of legislation, and he literally sells nearly his entire inventory during some of these events (the biggest was during Obama). Filthy rich now, and the fishing tackle store just replaces salary and that's about it. He beats himself up about that choice every Thanksgiving.

All a part of the political mix.

Besides, just trying to help the left out a bit, seeing it limping from its terminal lameness. If the dems were a horse instead of a donkey, they'd have shot it by now.

As it is, first step is realizing your side has a problem. Hasn't yet dawned on most.

Makes sense to me. But I bet the guy with the fishing store is the coolest of the two.

See there lies the problem, spare the rod, spoil the child.
Kids don’t have any idea of being responsible for their actions, lots of parents shield their children from any thing that might make them feel bad, or hurt their feelings. They come straight out of that kind of world and realize that the real world is nothing like their protected world.
And what harm does having a prayer at school, we are a Cristian based country, and before you say some folks don’t like god, then shouldn’t they through their money away( in god we trust) or is that different .

Prayer at public school? OK, which "god", should we pray to your narrowly defined "Cristian" (sic) god? Or to allah or flying spaghetti monster, odin, l. ron hubbard, etc?

How about this.....if you want your kids to talk to themselves and believe they are talking to their god, send them to a private school that has the same silly religious beliefs you do.

But, keep all this silly dogma out of public schools that taxpayers are funding.

America is not a theocracy, that is why we are great.

My son is doing just fine, 33 years old and, like him, his son will never be beaten by an adult. I decided that my son didn't need to learn a lesson about humiliation and authority and it worked. Now I believe that beating kids isn't about teaching a lesson, it's about authority gratifying itself.
Prayers? Do you think, like the Jesuits, that if you get them young enough they'll be yours for life?
