I grew up in a different world.

NOBODY SECURED guns in those days. NOBODY.

Guns were kept in open gun racks and everybody had access to them.

Kids knew better than to touch guns without permission and we all had gun safety pounded into us at such an early age that nobody got shot.

The only gun accident in my childhood in my circle of friends and relatives was one father who shot his son in the leg while deer hunting.

ONE hunting accident among roughly 50 gun users in 15 years.

Zero shots fired in anger or insanity.

We live in a different world now.

Am I going to give up my gun rights and my safety because others are crazy, incompetent or just stupid?

No. They are the problem, not me. Deal with them. Don't bother me about it.

Then maybe you shouldn't have started a thread inviting people to do that.

Just sayin.

People don't know how to solve cultural problems, they feel powerless...

No matter the situation, NO ONE wants to blame culture... it's ALWAYS something else..... why? probably because cultural issues are much harder to solve and people have to do a lot of introspection and taking responsibility, which is something no one wants to do.

"Don't bother me about this issue" *makes an entire thread about it*

Must feel that the 'enemy' is so close that he must call in an artillery strike on his own position...........'fire for effect!'

I stated my position. I welcome any intelligent comment.

If that's an invitation.....then accept it with grace rather than just making a snarky remark.

Unfortunately, people like you are societies problem.

I do like seeing him admit he's from another world, saves me the trouble of having to point that out.

That's it Vox, stick your head in the stand, if you strain real hard like you have to take a crap, you can make the worlds problems just vanish. Fingers in the ear is another variety, or head in the sand, or you can combine them all for bonus points.

I was thinking the other day as I buckled up my seatbelt and shifted the front briefcase in the seat to turn the airbag light off, ensured my kid was in their car-seat, in my 5 star crash test safety rating car, that it was them good 'ole days when kids were just ejected from cars like it was nothing. Aw, how it use to be.

Sorry, I mistook "don't bother me about it" for "I welcome intelligent comments". :doh

Now you've compounded your sins with an additional snarky remark.

Even I can figure out that there was no mistake.

What a mean comment.

I'll be glad to take a look at some of the world's problems, I just named a specific problem that's not my problem.

Gun control. I've even offered solutions to it, but nobody is willing to solve it, so I wash my hands of it.
