Hitler Made it Easier to Get Guns

When you want school teachers carrying concealed weapons, you know something has went seriously wrong with your society... or you're just a gun nut.

...or a frustrated humanitarian with common sense and knows GUN FREE ZONE signs and cell phones are ineffective at stopping someone with murder on their mind.

Come and take them.
Oh, wait, you Brits already tried that and got your asses handed to you.....TWICE.
You keep your laws on your side of the pond where they belong.

Actually those laws are those virtually every developed country in the world, not just the UK. You're more than welcome to keep your guns and your school shootings.

Pretty much every school in the world is a gun-free zone. Why is America the only country with regular school shootings?

I saw a You Tube video about that very subject.
They conclude the world would have been better off.

Every modern problem I can think of off the top of my head is the result of the Cold War, but I don't think the American people had another war in them. I aldo don't know if we would've been able to beat the Soviets, while also occupying Nazi Germany & Japan. Oh well. Not much use in dwelling on what-ifs. Not when we've got a world to fix. Being an armchair politician is a thankless task, but it's vital to holding the world together.

...and you can keep YOUR African terrorists kidnapping hundreds of young girls and burning to death hundreds of young boys.
I am no more to blame for those school shootings any more than you are for those terrorist activities in Africa.
They are not MY school shootings.
But they are MY guns, and they keep my doorways free, my land free, and my hallways clear.
Enter uninvited at your own peril.

You can not compare one country to another.
Each have their own unique history and path of development.

The entire world was weary of war and everyone but Patton and Mad Jack were sad it ended.
Still, it was an interesting video. One of those "what if...." types.

"Virtually all respondents (95 percent) say that a federal ban on manufacture and sale of ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds would not reduce violent crime."

"The majority of respondents — 71 percent — say a federal ban on the manufacture and sale of some semi-automatics would have no effect on reducing violent crime. However, more than 20 percent say any ban would actually have a negative effect on reducing violent crime. Just over 7 percent took the opposite stance, saying they believe a ban would have a moderate to significant effect. "

"The overwhelming majority (almost 90 percent) of officers believe that casualties would be decreased if armed citizens were present at the onset of an active-shooter incident."

"More than 80 percent of respondents support arming school teachers and administrators who willingly volunteer to train with firearms and carry one in the course of the job."

The meme about shooters being taken down by citizens has been debunked. Most gun owners fear they will be targeted by SWAT if they try to intervene so they choose to live instead of helping. The real world triumphs over fantasy again...

For a moment, the student, a veteran named John Parker Jr., thought about intervening and using his weapon and military training to stop the gunman. The student, however, was not in the building where the shooting took place.

Luckily we made the choice not to get involved,” Parker said at the time. “We were quite a distance away from the actual building where it was happening, which could have opened us up to being potential targets ourselves. Not knowing where SWAT was on their response time, they wouldn’t know who we were, and if we had our guns ready to shoot, they could think we were the bad guys.”

Had Parker chosen to intervene and been able to stop the gunman, he would have been in rare company. According to a study by the Federal Bureau of Investigation that examined 104 active-shooter events from 2000 to 2012, less than 3 percent of mass shootings were stopped by armed civilians.

Your guns don't keep your country free, they just kill a lot of people.

Other developed countries also have better mental health services, less Drug War insanity, and usually, no porous border with a 2nd world nation that trafficks illicit substances in all day everyday. Other developed nations didn't handle the majority of the world's stockpiling in preparation for war with the USSR. There are many variables that set America apart from the rest of the West & Asia, and many of them are quite ugly; many of them are also quite a bit more relevant to producing mass-murdering teenagers than the mere fact that weapons are available to use.

They are not. School shootings go on all over the world, but just are not reported as much as ours are.
EXAMPLE: A police officer has an accidental discharge of his weapon at night in a school parking lot.
This goes down on the list as a "school shooting".
Actually read the propaganda about 18 "school shootings" since New years eve.
You will see it is crap like what i just indicated.

but....that does not fit an agenda to ban guns, so it will not be looked at or ever actually read by gun banners.

Your guns don't keep your country free, they just kill a lot of people.

Smells like freedom to me.
The graves of dead Brits, Hessians, and other invaders bare mute testimony to the effectiveness of America's guns.
(engage "poke fun at them" mode. Logical discussion is not in them)

Minimizing these events do not help your case. It just makes you sound heartless and cold...sort of like guns. There is this though...

It makes me a realist, in that I have seen the evil people can do to each other and will if not confronted with a physical means to stop them.

Now....with due respect and politeness to your point. I do not click on CNN links. They are not even trying to hide their biased agenda anymore.
I thought it would be more polite to tell you I do not read CNN's links rather than to have you think I did.
I am sure you may have a good counterpoint.
How about just telling me.

Would you read a link to an NRA story?
I think we both may be in agreement, though, we both do not care much for the NRA.
I am not a member and don't like them.

Lol. It's America's checks and balances which keep you free. If you're claiming that it's guns, then you need to explain the existence of the many free countries that have gun control.

The NRA is a gun manufacturers association masquerading as a public service organization. If you want more guns sold, just listen to what they want or don't want.
The story is about the GOP donor that says he will refuse to write anymore checks until a ban on assault rifles is passed. It is news and believe it or not it goes on all around you whether you read or watch it or not. What are you afraid of? Seeing something you don't like or finding out you have been lied to?

I don't care about other countries. Historically we were next invaded by a foreign power AND CONQUERED since our existence.
You can bet your bottom line those other countries you mention have been.
PS...You can also mention other free countries that have almost ZERO gun control.

On a personal note.....why are you doing this? Do you think some link you post or some great prophetic comment is going to make me put all my guns in my truck and throw them off a pier in Kemah?
We can go back and forth all day and i will not do this, nor will i convince you to go buy even a single shot .22.
I am not budging on my view of this as i have heard these tired old points for the last 40 years or so.
"Well in other countries....." I do not live in "other" countries. I live in the great nation of Texas.
I was just a toddler at the time, but that guy that did the Univ. of Texas tower shootings would have killed much more if private citizens did not get out their massively powerful hunting rifles and keep his head down. The police at the time only had shotguns and .38 revolvers.
Who is to say this might happen again.
Who is to say? You can't. It did and just might again.

To your credit, you have been civil and i hope i have too.
Please point it out if i ever stray from civility. It would not be my intention if i ever do.
While i enjoy the repore, I have heard all this before ad nuasium.

Had guns been illegal, it's entirely possible that there never would have been a Texas tower shooter.

Look up "The Great Texas Commanche Raid" and you might get a clue about why us Texans will NEVER give up our guns.
What if.....holds no water in a factual discussion.

What if....King George did not have bouts of craziness?
We might still have been an English colony and our Civil War would not have happened in that slavery was abolished under the crown in the early 1800's (I think)
or...What if....the south did not want to abolish slavery and their might have been an even more bloodier civil war.

What if....I pursued my dreams of being a Hollywood set designer and went to college to study Architecture instead of later in life and studied Process Instrumentation Engineering.
I could have been in the Rolodex of all the Hollywood heavyweights and made awesome sets for them.

What if....I log off now and get busy with my housework and spoiling my bride.

"There is no reason why on the street today a citizen should be carrying a loaded weapon.” In the USA.

You're in Southern England, why do you care if people carry in the USA?

Tell that to a friend of mine who was raped and stopped a later assault on her...with a gun. Unfortunately there are bad people here. You don’t get to determine what other people need and when they need it. There are uncivilized monsters out there.

I can see them here.

Tell that to Reagan. He's the one who said it. No reason for Americans skulking around wearing a hidden killing tool.

Actually, Hitler only made it easier to get guns if you were an "Aryan". He wasn't a big fan of Jews getting their hands on guns, though as it turned out Jews getting their hands on guns didn't really change a whole lot in 1943 Warsaw.

Not to mention the Nazis didn't really see the point in somebody getting to run around and wave their gun at whomever they wanted when there were entire organizations you could join to run around and wave your gun at whomever.

Trump supporters would love special treatment for Aryans!

I can see them here.

Who? Who exactly are you referring to? Because it sounds like you don’t have much of a response to those who have defended themselves from horrid crimes. How dare they be non compliant victims right?
