The kids are taking a stand!

Please stop that. These kids speak out of grief, they lash out against something and anything to cope. Please stop.

It takes a special kind of soulless jerk to attack the young victims and survivors of a high school mass shooting.

I'm waiting for the "kids" to take a stand against drug overdose.

June 2017 - "... the Times contacted local and state agencies across the US to come up with a rough estimate. It calculated that 59,000 to 65,000 people died of overdoses last year, with a harder, but likely imprecise, number of 62,497.

... In comparison, more than 58,000 US soldiers died in the entire Vietnam War, nearly 55,000 Americans died of car crashes at the peak of such deaths in 1972, more than 43,000 died due to HIV/AIDS during that epidemic's peak in 1995, and nearly 40,000 died of guns during the peak of those deaths in 1993.

The Times can’t specify how many of the overdose deaths were caused by opioids, much less what kind of opioid — painkillers, heroin, or fentanyl — was behind the deaths. But based on the past few years’ trends and on-the-ground reports, most of the overdose deaths were likely linked to opioids and an increasing amount were linked to fentanyl. ..."

Would be nice if they were protesting the pharma lobbyists and the drug dealers.

Do it yourselve, instead of saying it would be nice if someone else did.

I agree. The Russian investigation has been a waste of the FBI's time and resources.

The U.S. has meddled in more elections than any other country in the global world.

You can actually in some way say the Russians were justified in their actions:

The U.S. is no stranger to interfering in the elections of other countries

Thanks for agreeing with me and, I think we should probably ask our congress leaders to change gears because we can argue about it but guess what we are going on term 2 and, pence is not the replacement so shut up and, deal case closed

Survivors Of The Florida School Shooting Organize D.C. March

These high school kids understand more about gun violence and the dangerous element within the NRA than the Harvard-educated gun supporters.

Those like Ted Cruz and Rick Scott are on the losing side of this issue. At this point, they are too scared to even discuss the subject.

IMO cowardly. When communities are being killed and shot up, they won't tolerate the NRA bs anymore.

I saw and heard one of those kids say ALL NRA members have blood on their hands.
I quit listening to anything that was said after that.
That alone tells me their "movement" will go nowhere and is just repeating the anti-gun hyperbole and hysteria of the radical left.

Anti-gun is not radical left.

Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan were staunch supporters of gun control.

I myself am conservative. I support judges that are originalists. I support capitalism.

However, guns create a threat to the society the same way heroin or any addictive drug does. After shooting a gun, it releases dopamine and endorphins that can be addictive to the person holding the gun.

He mentions the handguns vs rifles statistic.

I realize that his premise assumes some shaky ground. I was referring to some of his thoughts following this: "Given all of this, why do liberals keep losing the gun control debate? Maybe it’s because they argue their case badly and — let’s face it — in bad faith." He goes on: "Then there are the endless liberal errors of fact."

Fair enough.

I don't think that a 'more gun control' 'blank check' position is going to gain the support that it needs without both specific details on the legislation and specifically addressing how the legislation is going to keep firearms out of the hands of criminals AND the mentally at risk.

Im taking this to mean your not opposed to minors purchasing and owning firearms either then.

Is English your first language? No offense intended. You just struggle with it sometimes. I didn't say I'm not opposed to high schoolers drinking alcohol and renting cars. I said, "I know some high schoolers who are worlds more qualified to drink alcohol and rent cars than many adults." It's right there for you to read again.

Nothing will change. Keep lining up those coffins.

That is the most tragic part of it.
Each side says the same ol' same ol' that has yet to work.
Tyrus on Guttfield said it best.....
(paraphrased) 9/11 changed airports forever. This shooting needs to be the very last and we need to change schools forever now.

They get a chance to meet with the President next week.

Trump is a supporter of gun control. He comes from New York. This is where action can happen.

Only in New York. I don't live there so that is their business.
I live in TEXAS, and we will never have that kind of crap here.

I didn't ask for someone else, I asked for "the kids" ... the ones that are taking a "stand".

Unless you're a kid, you asked for someone else to take a stand and protest.

So their solution to the problem is.....?

I can't imagine they all have the same proposed solutions, but it says at least four times in the short OP article that these particular students want something related to gun control.

Who cares about a bunch of kids that have no knowledge of anything outside of their classrooms whatsoever - who cares? Until you have a job and live on your own, shut up.

You don't understand how this works. Victims and survivors of violence don't "shut up" because some internet poster told them to.

If so it seems they have much in common with the "guns are good" brainless twits hyperfocused on threats to their "rights" and subservient to the NRA's talking points.

I am "subservant" to the United States Bill Of Rights.
ALL of them.
I am not selective like some are.
PS...nor am I an NRA member.
It is the Texas State Rifle Association for me.

one point...
I have never killed or even shot at a human in my entire life.
donate to two charities
have a nice credit score
love my wife, kids, and cats
pay my bills on time
ect...ect...ect...

I am NOT to be feared for owning a gun....or several.

Try shooting a .50 machine gun (Ma Duece) full auto. You can hit anything you see.
What a rush. Especially when Uncle Sam is buying the ammo.
I also get that same "dopamine and endorphin" release when i grab my wife's azz.
Don't even think about banning that.

If you want to ban people having "dopamine and endorphine" rushes, then you need to ban.....

I'm not trying to minimize the horror. I'm pointing out the stupidity and hypocrisy of these kids. Heck, you want to know what one of those kids said?

David Hogg

“President Trump, you control the House of Representatives, you control the Senate, and you control the executive..."

Didn't his school teach him about the Constitution? Didn't they teach him about the Separation of Powers? Or did they just teach him how to be an articulate liberal mouthpiece?

I couldn't tell you what the young man's curriculum includes, but did you ever watch any of those Watters Worlds segments on The O'Reilly Factor? Most American adults don't know who the vice president is or what the three branches of government are. The student either misspoke or really doesn't know that the president does not control the Congress, but he has a perspective nonetheless. Just like all the idiot Americans who can't find Ohio on a map. My guess is that he was referring to the president's party "controlling" the WH and both houses of Congress. I also think you already know that, but that you're just continuing to discredit the victims' opinions that you don't like. What did I say about that before? Oh, yes. It's obnoxious and tacky.

Have you ever had to hide in a classroom because some shooter wants to kill you?

Have you had to stand next to a dead human corpse that may have been your friend or peer?

I have done both. So the heartless, brainless things that these jackasses vomit all over this forum and on the president's Twitter feed are insulting and insensitive. I try not to take it too personally too often, but a person who has no true comprehension of this kind of violence sticks out like a sore thumb to me.

All of it began the first time some of you who know better and are old enough to know better let young people think they have the right to choose the laws they would obey as long as they were doing it in the name of social protest. - Governor Ronald Reagon

No one is scared of these teenagers. These kids are just parrots of the left who are about to be used by the left. 'Do something' is not a plan of action that will do anything.

Have some dignity and show some respect for the survivors of a high school massacre. FFS.
