The problem with using mass shootings to justify gun control

Tell that to all the dead and wounded from AR's.

What about all the dead and wounded from handguns, knives, fists, blunt objects, vehicles, etc. etc.

hint... those death tolls are MUCH HIGHER than AR's... Why don't those death tolls matter to you?

No response to this, Jet?

This is too easy...

Because trucks aren't meant for killing.

I am assuming that you mean "killing" as in "murdering another human". By that definition, guns are also not meant for "killing"...

Also, just because something isn't MEANT for "killing" doesn't mean that it can't be effectively USED for "killing"... Here are some examples of that...

Drugs aren't meant to kill someone, but overdosing on them will kill someone. Knives aren't meant to kill someone, but stabbing someone with them will kill someone. Blunt objects aren't meant to kill someone, but continuously beating someone's brain in with them will kill someone. Trucks aren't meant to kill someone, but running a truck over someone will kill someone Etc. Etc. Etc.

You catch my drift? ...

And you think the main purpose of a truck is to do so?

The main purpose isn't important to any victims. The main purpose of a gun is not to murder, either.

There's too much gun violence in this country simply because there are too many guns and they get into the wrong hands. We really need to thin out that number, take greater control of guns, and who gets them until we can let the craziness subside. Too many people are at risk these days for a free-for-all.

Evidence for any of this?

Except trucks have much more uses than a gun.

Trucks also have more uses than a fire extinghuisher. However when you need one, little else will due. Same with firearms. You can probably successfully argue that a truck can be used in more ways than a gun. However when a gun is needed, little else will due.

How many are required to justify "legitimate purpose''?

Let me know, I'll start a list.
