Hey Change of subject....I am not Sure this is the best place for this... BUT.... POST Apocalyptic setup...... Thoughts.

In previous post I mention I had my 2 go 2 setups,
Light weight 6lbs AR 16", lowpro redot, back up sights, 55gr EDC (shoots both, .223 55gr and XM193 no problem)
18" contoured 3gun design, 1-6x variable, shoots everything, but (77gr best load.)

My Bugout was always setup, so had the food and water, but then I questions the ammo to have on hand.

55gr being cheap and abundant. XM855 for the AP need if needed.

Small amount of 77gr both 223 and got my hands on some MK262 which is amazing. but not cheap.

Is it worth having these 2 setup or even worrying about 77gr or say screw it and just go light weight and all 55gr?

Other than that, I have my generic battle belt etc.....so good to go while hunkered in. Was just going through my bugout bag and noticed....man I got too much different ammo going here...am I getting to complicated?

The correct procedure for response to incoming ballistic nuke was analyzed, evaluated and tested. You may be a millenial and, in that case, you could be forgiven for not knowing.
Correct response 1955-75: Bend way over and kiss your sweet ass goodbye.

Consider what your needs will be. If you figure to stick in an urban environment and fight 2 legged critters then the AR is a fine choice. The XM193 should be all you need.

However, if you're planning on a long term bugout then you might want to consider a 10-22. You can carry several thousand rounds for the weight you'd be packing with hundreds of rounds of XM193. The .22lr will be fine for small game and, assuming you'll be on foot after you run out of gas, weight v necessary items is a HUGE consideration. Supplement it with a good .308 for bigger game and the possibility that you'd need to reach out and touch a threat.

Your priorities are water, food, shelter and personal protection. Every one of those is a top priority and skimping on one to supplement another will screw you in the long run.

Yups got that dont worry....was being prepared for a post apocalyptic scenario. If it was in fact a nuke that would hit us, I wouldnt really needing to be worried about anything now would I....... Would have just had my sweet tea and called it a day.

If it was a dud, no nuke but a ballistic missile and just leveled a city...it would be like a tsunami or hurricane that knocked out the infrastructure......from there would be anything goes...... So better to be prepared than to just say, its probably a nuke an we are done....

Jeezs I know I got a tinfoil hat on, but damn..... better to be safe than sorry... I mean my bugout stuff is NOT just for a Nuke, We do get Hurricanes 8-10 per year... if one hits us we will end up like Puerto Rico no?

That is like running during an artillery attack.......you may run right into a blast....

Actually got that as well, This scenarios is if I was hunkered down for a mixed 3-5 days.

1) if it was a level destruction not a nuke, then water, electricity and sewage is down. Best to stay in place and not go out.
2) Once the 3-5days expires venturing out might be a little safe. The AR being that for 2 legged critters.
3) once the 7days goes, food and water would be critical, at that point the 2 legged critters are either limited as they exhausted themsevles, so the 4 legged critter search is on.

That being said, I have a couple "additional" setups for long term, have 6 buckets of Golden 22lr. with an 18" bull ER shaw and a M&P 22 compact.. This would be the food hunting trekking.

Again the original post scenario, was because of the initial alert on my phone I yanked the Bugout Bag and grabbed my Light weight, but realized my pouches had all kinds of ammo LOL.... couldnt believe I mixed up with so much Crap LOL! And was thinking, damn maybe I should get rid of the mix and just stick to one.

2 rotations in the sandbox, for 6 months we were QRF..... pretty narly, being the guys that had to suit up when the alarms went off jumping in our truck rushing out the gate while we had incoming..... Pretty used to it. We didnt have any alarms and that was the First indication something was up. It was just mind blowing getting the alert " incoming missile" this is not a drill LOL!

I keep XM193 in all my "immediate access" mags. The range mags usually have Remington PMC or ZQI if I can find it.

HMMMMM, got me thinking..... LOL

have a huge box of XM193 that I bought and held as a back up box.

PMC bronze and just got some really cheap UMC for range day so that is in full rotation.

You got me thinking if I should just pull all my 223 from my immediate access and just stick all the XM193 in there! Good point..... get a consistent FPS..... and no worry about "cheap stuff" inconsistency, crappy primers etc.
