On Friday, some relatives of mine were gunned down in cold blood in Louisville, Ky. The man who shot them took his wife, her nephew, and his wife into the kitchen - made them kneel down and then shot them one by one with an assault rifle. There were little kids in the other room (left alive, thankfully).

Immediately, people I know began talking about gun control, and about how "if he only hadn't been allowed to own a gun..." B.S.

I knew one of them fairly well (the nephew's wife) and it didn't surprise me that she took more than one bullet - she was going for a weapon (though I doubt she owned a gun, unfortunately). I also know that I would have given quite a lot to have been there with MY gun, and several of my relatives have expressed similar sentiment.

Now, justice is 30 years away - when the guy floats away in his sleep, one way or the other.

Before this thread ends up the way it inevitably will, I’m truly sorry your family has suffered such tragedy.

My condolences to your family.

Sorry for your loss. Very sad.

I dont think its "cruel and unusual punishment" to let one of the family members be a part of the firing squad. Just give um 1 bullet and they get to choose the head, the heart, the shoulder, or the dick for a reduced sentence.

I support and the death penalty but I don't support it being an instrument of torture. It should be quick and painless as possible. That said, I completely understand your sentiment.

i know if my wife or one of our kids were murdered it should be up to family to pronounce sentence. Slow and painful.
