On Friday, some relatives of mine were gunned down in cold blood in Louisville, Ky. The man who shot them took his wife, her nephew, and his wife into the kitchen - made them kneel down and then shot them one by one with an assault rifle. There were little kids in the other room (left alive, thankfully).
Immediately, people I know began talking about gun control, and about how "if he only hadn't been allowed to own a gun..." B.S.
I knew one of them fairly well (the nephew's wife) and it didn't surprise me that she took more than one bullet - she was going for a weapon (though I doubt she owned a gun, unfortunately). I also know that I would have given quite a lot to have been there with MY gun, and several of my relatives have expressed similar sentiment.
Now, justice is 30 years away - when the guy floats away in his sleep, one way or the other.
