Are most forms of gun control constitutional?

Are most forms of gun control Constitutional??

Ummmm, are we talking about the Leftist Non-Enumerated Bastardized Constitution, or the Word-for-Word Enumerated Legitimate Constitution?

The answer to this question will differ depending on which Constitution we're talking about...

Well if you mean the one Madison wrote then lots of gun control is constitutional

"Since 2008, there have been over 1,230 Second Amendment cases challenging gun laws nationwide, with an overwhelming majority—93%—of the lower court decisions upholding those laws."

It seems like we continually hear complaints about gun control from a very vocal minority. However, such complaints have not been found valid in courts of law for the most part.

I would say some gun laws are Constitutional, no shooting in downtown wherever as an example, many if not most others are not, most NY gun laws as an example. Funny thing about courts, one court says something is Constitutional and another says it is not, applies to the lower courts and the SC.

Source for that bull**** claim?

1st Amendment "Congress shall make no law"

2nd Amendment "shall not be infringed"

4th Amendment "shall not be violated"

5th Amendment "No person shall be held to answer"

How exactly are these amendments are not a restriction on government is beyond me.
A mere liberal interpretation of the commerce clause then POOF a restriction on governments ability to "regulate" the use of arms becomes a commodity and subject to regulation.

federal gun control is one of the biggest frauds foisted on the American People due to pandering and political expediency.

It was Obama who thinks that American citizens don't deserve rights though. The prison was built outside the US so it did not have to follow our constitution. This is done all the time to get around laws. The Houston Astrodome was built on small piece of property that was Harris County in the center of the City of Houston. The reason for the land to be county land was to get around Houston city laws. DC is another example. Federal parks and forest to get around state laws.

Yeah no.. Take a gander at what the Patriot Act did for our rights.

and yes.. the prison was built to get around the CONSTITUTION. think on that for a minute.

The patriot act was a necessity and great idea. The problem is our corrupt government takes a yard when you give an inch. Especially when it comes to trampling the rights of the people and making them rulers of the people instead of serving the people. It is one thing to pass laws to protect the citizens of this country. It is another to abuse those laws to take away the rights of the citizens of this country. It is like the amnesty situation. I have no problem giving amnesty and allowing aliens raised in this country from a child to become citizens. I have a big problem with their lawless parents who have no respect for our country, our laws, or the citizens who made the laws. The only thing they should be given if anything is a boot over the border and never allowed to step foot in our country again.

Hmmmm.. how did we manage to survive as a country before the patriot act? the patriot was neither a good idea nor a necessity. It was a giant overreach of government power that capitalized on people's fear.

When you pass laws that are unnecessary and frankly GIVE the government the tools to take away the rights of citizens... (like creating a prison outside the country to avoid the constitution), then you set the government up to abuse those rights.

It appears to me.. that you are fine with abuse by government.. as long as its republicans doing it.

How did we survive as country before radar? As the people who wish to destroy our country adapt so must we. That is a stupid argument. Intelligence has always been key to preventing attacks. Pearl Harbor was a perfect example. We should have had long range planes patrolling the skies around Pearl Harbor making sure the Japanese who were attacking every Island in the pacific did not launch a surprise attack on us.

Terrorist had just proved that we needed to take better measures of gathering intelligence on the people here in this country. Those planes and the people who took charge of them did so right here under our nose. Those planes were not from the Middle East and hijacked by people getting on them from the Middle East. The terrorist got on the planes from right here in our country and took off from our airports. Did we need to step up intelligence gathering here in this country? Absolutely. However there was never a need to start violating the constitutional rights of the people. Just do a better job at monitoring terrorist coming into our country and terrorist groups and organizations here in this country.

Okay.. lets start with this right here:

As the people who wish to destroy our country adapt so must we.
Please explain exactly how these people plan to destroy our country.

Seems to me.. that the terrorists plan would be to make us afraid (hence TERRORists) and cause us to change our culture, lifestyle and freedoms.... for example.. creating prisons to get around the constitution. Creating laws that allow the police to hold someone without due process, allowing American citizens to be spied on without due process, restricting the movement of citizens without due process (such as no fly lists).

As the 9/11? We already had EVERYTHING in place to stop the terrorists, . the failure was due to lack of communication due to bureaucracy between the various agencies. So what was the answer? Another layer of bureaucracy .. Homeland security.

There was no need for any of the loss of freedoms that have occurred since 9/11.

No...

Too many.

The right to bear arms is one. Our government has trampled that right into oblivion. It is now a privilege that requires permission from the Gestapo.

The Obama administrations passage of a provision in the NDAA, a provision that would allow them to indefinitely detain American Citizens without a trial.

What about the 4th amendment? How many times now has our government been caught spying and listening in on private conversations without a warrant.

The attacks on our rights are a nonstop problem every time the democrats get in office.

Your right to bear arms remains untouched. The first NDAA was signed in 1961 and Obama added a provision that banned torture, so what are you referring to?

4th Amendment problems ARE circulating, but the real problem is we are not forcing our representatives to do anything about them. This entire thing - all of it - is on US.

And Democrats are not trampling on our rights.

Did you forget Obama signed the above into law.

The restrictions and attempted restrictions to our 2nd amendment by the democrats could fill the library of congress.

you can pretend that is true ONLY due to the silly claim there is no individual right recognized by the second amendment

Cops can arrest you and detain you for hours without a trial, so what's your point?

The point is this is clearly over your head until you can comprehend the difference between a few hours being reasonable and indefinite being unreasonable. Until then I shall move on.
