Giffords goes after muzzleloaders

If you read the paper their objection is that muzzle loaders are classified as primitive weapons and therefore aren't subject to background checks etc., nor are attachments such as silencers illegal on such firearms. They do point out (unnecessarily) that a .50 cal muzzleloader is deadly. The question is should felons have access to them?

It only takes one bullet to be lethal. So should a convicted violent felon have legal access to a single shot firearm?

If the felon has done his time then he should have his rights restored. If the felon is considered to still be a threat to society then he should not be released.

One of the complaints about them is that a silencer can be attached.

No I'm a black powder in the easiest and I happen to love shooting muzzleloaders they aren't good for much except for to put around 6 shot out of them at the gun range. And there isn't any silencing them.

Silencers really? God these clowns watch too many movies

You can even hear that Bang that ear splitting Bang. Because of that silencer you know cuz they work like in the movies. It basically sounds like a mouse fart accept it don't smell like cheese.

I don't know about Turtle dude but my take on it is mixed. A 50 cal black powder muzzleloader can be devastating and impossible to trace but you better damn well be a good shot.

given there is almost zero cases of anyone using a BP gun for nefarious purposes, I don't see a need to change the law. BTW I oppose non-violent felons losing their second amendment rights permanently
