You Wanna See Gun Control?

we see several UK citizens constantly complaining about our gun rights and laws. tell me why we should care about foreigners complaining about US laws? I don't spend any time on UK boards whining about your laws

And you take pride in this ability to kill someone ?

Thankfully you don't live on the same continent as me

fyi. Its a paper target.

I don't really care about you laws, although it's a shame to see so many people die as a result of them. I care more about the poor arguments that pro-gunners make.

I've been on this earth for 41 years and not once have I ever needed a gun for self defence. Probably because strict gun control in my country makes them a very rare thing.

North Korea?

North Korea?

You do realise it is perfectly possible to live in a free country with strict gun control and low gun crime.

"Free country with strict gun control" seems like an oxymoron to my Texan ears.

I'm reminded of the story of an English homeowner who, having no guns, was obliged to run a violent home invader through with a sword and so was prosecuted by the Crown for being so bold as to defend himself in his own home. No, I'd rather die than live under such laws.

So are you saying that countries like Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands are not free??
DO you think the only definition of freedom is gun ownership? Russia and the Yemen allow their citizens to own guns, do you think those countries are freer than the UK or Belgium?

Russia has very strict gun control. The UK also allows its citizens to own guns. There also wasn't much of a positive change in the UK homicide rate after 1996.

I never said their laws were effective; much like those in the US, they are not enforced.

"Russian citizens over 18 years of age can obtain a firearms licence after attending gun-safety classes and passing a federal test and background check. The licence is for five years and may be renewed. Firearms may be acquired for self-defense, hunting, or sports activities. Carrying permits may be issued for hunting firearms licensed for hunting purposes. Initially, purchase is limited to smooth-bore long-barred firearms and pneumatic weapons with a muzzle energy of up to 25 joules (18 ft·lbf). After five years of shotgun ownership, rifles may be purchased. Handguns are generally not allowed. Rifles and shotguns with barrels less than 800 mm (31 in) long are prohibited, as are firearms that shoot in bursts and have more than a 10-cartridge capacity. Silencers are prohibited. An individual cannot possess more than ten guns (up to five shotguns and up to five rifles) unless they are part of a registered gun collection.[88] Gun licenses are for five years and can be renewed."

Seems fairly close to UK laws with what is allowed to be owned and who can own them, except that the UK allows moderators/silencers.

Horsepoop. the gun banners make the bad arguments. like claims that passing laws that only restrict the rights of law abiding gun owners are going to deter criminals or the "need" nonsense. no movement is more dishonest about the facts and its motivations than the anti gun movement.

Its also perfectly possible to live in a free country with strict gun control and high every other kind of crime.

Evidence? Why do you assume the worse of legal gun owners?

most likely because they don't generally support the creeping crud of collectivization

Howelse can you tell if you're shooting accurately enough to cause mortal wounds?
Me I like using recipe cards 4x7 apx. and envision head shots or center mass. Lots cheaper. Wonder if that's like shooting a dinner torso?
