Because Outlaws Don't Obey Laws

Does anyone actually expect that laws against murder will reduce the murder rate to zero?
Honestly, do you know a single, real, live, adult in charge of their faculties person who believes that laws reduce criminal activity to zero?

Everyone I have ever known expects laws to reduce criminal activity.
I have yet to meet anyone who believes that laws will reduce criminal activity to zero.


That said, a some silly, emotional readers will decide that I am against gun ownership or in favor of gun confiscations or some similar silly ****.
But really all I have said is that the "criminal don't obey laws" argument is monumentally stupid argument.

But, emotionally driven readers should still feel free to jump to and reach untenable, silly conclusions about my stances in re firearms.

gun laws and gun numbers being reduced are unique

that is because the two edged sword guns present.

society isn't any better off if more people do heroin, produce Kiddie porn or engage in other criminal behaviors. but society is better off if more honest people are armed, while more criminals being armed is deleterious for society. Gun laws tend to mostly remove guns from those who do good with them.

You make it sound almost as if you'd be in favor of laws which reduce the ability of bad guys to get guns.

if there were laws that would do that without interfering with the rights of honest people, I'd have no problems with that. Such laws exist-the ones that hammer criminals for using firearms in crimes and the ones that punish violent felons from being in possession of firearms

they restrict how you drive, just like proper gun laws restrict people from discharging weapons in an environment where harm is lucky. but we oppose laws that only restrict the rights of honest people. Bans on types of firearms ONLY impact the lawful owners of guns. Criminals already are banned. Magazine limits and waiting periods or limits on how many guns you can buy or own are only targeting people who can own guns.

They also restrict ownership such as licensing and registration. Car thieves don't register cars....why do I have to?

That's easy, it would be the society that still thought it had a right to kill people just because you own a gun to do so with. These gun groups only have power because they have the backing of many people .

you don't have to register a car if you only use it on private property

no one has seriously tried to ban cars either or suggested confiscating them

Almost all laws impacting driving are about driving safely and with the intention of not causing harm to others by acts of stupidity. Big difference between that and creating laws that ban cars.

You will have to explain to me what the magic is that prevents non americans from giving arguements against the stupidity of americans when it comes to guns.
That you fail to counter my arguements and can only pitifully try and counter the arguement maker shows how weak your own views are.

And again, can you point out where my arguement is anti gun. Where as i have no problem pointing out that lacking any intelligent response you will always go to the fall back of whinging that the person you arer arguing with just wants to take your gun away.

No, that sort of comment points out the absurdity of people like you always whinging about someone trying to take your toy away.

You could not put up a credible arguement for having a gun if you tried. All you can do is play the game of shout the loudest and the longest and try and drown out any intelligent arguement.

Noted your failurs once again to produce any evidence that i wish to ban guns.
