Gun stocks up after Las Vegas shooting - Oct. 2, 2017

Mass murder = rise in gun sales and even the stocks of gun manufacturers
Gun stocks rose Monday following the deadliest mass shooting in American history late Sunday night.

The stocks have tended to rally in the immediate aftermath of mass killings, which sadly have become more routine.
Dem POTUS = historically huge sales of guns

gun sales climbed during the Obama administration's two terms as gun aficionados bought more firearms just in case rules changed at a national level or in individual states controlled by Democrats.

Rep POTUS = drastic reduction in sales, stores closing, stocks decreasing
Trump's win removed those fears, and gun company sales and profits have plunged as a result. FBI background checks for firearms have fallen as well.Sturm Ruger said in August that its latest quarterly revenues were down 22% from a year ago and that earnings plummeted more than 50%.

The weak gun sales are having an impact on the sporting goods industry as well.Sales have plunged at Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS), and so has its stock. Shares are down 50% this year but the stock rose more than 1% Monday.
Gun sales have also dropped at Cabela's, which was recently acquired by Bass Pro Shops. And Gander Mountain shut several stores this year after filing for bankruptcy.

So - if you truly care about guns, what you want is a Dem POTUS.
If you own stock in gun manufacturers, what you want is a Dem POTUS.
If you work for (or have family/friends who work for) places like Cabelas, Gander Mountain, Dicks,....you want a Dem POTUS.

Irony.

I fully expect to see many 2A supporters campaigning quite vocally for whoever runs the DEM ticket in 2018, and in 2020.
It's truly what's best for your passions and hobbies.

Democrat = better for guns, better for businesses that sell guns, better for businesses that make guns - therefore better for the USofA.

Ironically, we have many new gun stores that have opened in our area. [including Field and Stream/Dicks]

LOL.

The most likely reason why gun sales might increase under a "Dem" administration is because the "Dem's" have become the progressive-left party of big government, and constantly push gun control and repeal/replacement of the Second Amendment.

Many people may be buying guns to stock up and store in preparation for police state gun control measures guaranteed to be a "Dem" platform; not in support of "gun businesses."

Nice try. :coffeepap:

Just think, if only one of those 20,000 people had been a good guy with a gun this could've all been over within 15 seconds. Checkmate, liberals. The message we got is we need more guns.

Too soon, Rabid, too soon.

Too soon, Rabid, too soon.

The only thing that's "too soon" is the ending of the lives of these 58 people. Everyone's already talking about it and this is a thread about it, so get over it or look away. If only those people on the ground had rifles to shoot back this never would've happened.

That is bull****. And I said too soon because I thought you were joking. I see I was wrong. Your take is delusional.

Its called Panic buying, people fear infringments on the 2A from Dems when they prattle about gun control so they buy what they think wont be permitted in the future. There's just no fear of the 2A being infringed by the right.

So it's delusional to expect that continuously sprinkling more and more guns into our society will prevent these things? Hrm... Why do you want us disarmed like sheep? If every man, woman and child in America had a rifle with them at all times these horrible shootings wouldn't happen.

1) There is no such thing

2) Fearmongering works

3) I rest my case

Not fearmongering. Real fear of loss of rights every time a democrat takes office.

Of course when there is no concern for things that truly impact peoples lives such as infrastructure, affordable health care, not competing with illegal aliens for a livable wage, etc. all the left is concerned with is restricting the rights and freedom of the millions of law abiding citizens because of a handful of deranged individuals.

Wow. How utterly delusional.

No, dems haven't become that and no, they're not constantly pushing for a repeal of the 2nd Amendment.

Both hilarious and, frankly, pathetic.

I have a carry permit. Own two guns. Go to the range. Love the idea that those around me much more accomplished than I carry guns and are prepared to use them.

Your idea that one guy with a rifle could have stopped LV is so many degrees of stupid it’s off the scale.

"Real fear" of something that just does not happen.

So it is in fact - fearmongering.

Do the citizens in Connecticut, New York, Maryland and California enjoy the same right to own a constitutionally protected class of firearms that they did in 2008?

its a guarantee that bannerrhoid Democrat politicians will try to ban "bump fire stocks"

they will try to push for magazine limits again

they won't let this tragedy go to waste given the crap I am hearing from their leaders like the Hildabanner

Colbert is right.

Now I KNOW exactly what part many here will fixate on, but look beyond that one sentence and think about the "or offer a better solution" part.

so what states that have gun bans -were those bans passed by Republicans.

what federal encroachments on the second amendment were authored by the Republican Party?

that asshole has been a gun hater and NRA basher for years. He's jumping on the tired 'assault weapon' bannerhoid wagon again. total fluffer of the DNC

So far anyway. I am tired of wasting so much time fighting to keep the rights we already have instead of working to attain even more rights and freedom. It is sad how much time the left waste trying to take away what we have fought so hard for. We should be adding to the Bill of Rights not restricting and taking away what rights we have already achieved. This is beyond pathetic.

That's irrelevant to what I actually responded to.

The dems haven't become what he claimed and they're not 'constantly pushing for a repeal of the 2nd'.

To assert that they have and they are is delusional; unmoored from reality and, frankly, just stupid.

some have pushed to repeal it but you are right, most of them are far less honest as they baldly claim they are pro second amendment but then claim all sorts of bannerrhoid schemes don't violate the 2nd

SO you are essentially correct in part

A healthy dose of years long fear mongering propaganda didn't hurt sales. Remember the FAKE NEWS stories about Obama admin buying up all the ammo, sending gullible morons to the stores to buy out ammo stocks for MONTHS and MONTHS? I do!! Walmart shelves around me literally empty of center fire ammo. All of it based on completely made up BS.

BTW, "police state gun control measures." That's Poe's Law stuff.

Conversely, liberals who hate guns and the ability of anyone to own a firearm would be better served by electing Republicans...right?

LOL!!
