What if 100 NRA members were killed?[W:1249]

So saving lives. Very good reason for background checks

You're being dishonest and over simplifying things. Yes, a cop's job is to save lives when he can, however that isn't the main reason why police have extensive background checks. Otherwuse you'll need a background to get CPR training. Cops have the power to chase you down, kick in your door, arrest you, detain you, and all around ruin your life legally. They also have to hear your very descriptive rape case, they can search your computer and find out your darkest secrets. So they want to make sure that you don't abuse that power.

Are you saying all gun background checks should be eliminated

Are you saying all gun background checks should be eliminated

For private citizens? Sure. It makes sense since its a background checks are useless when it comes to private citizens and stopping crime.

Why background check anyone at all? Prove that it is necessary with scientific evidence for LEO's or the military.

Please explain why you need "scientific evidence".. to know why a background check should be done on a prospective child day care provider to determine if they are a convicted pedophile?

Please explain why you need scientific evidence to know why background checks should be done on a prospective LEO to determine if they are a convicted felon

Please explain why you need scientific evidence to know why background checks should be done a prospective military candidate who will be given sensitive army intelligence.

Then.. when you give me the reason you need to know why background checks should be done on those people.

THEN you give me the scientific reason that background checks should not be done every 3 months on every single person in America.

You want it both ways. You say there is no proof background checks work for private citizens. Well show me proof they work for anything else

Re: What if 100 NRA members were killed?

Want to change the law you have to be in the game

So with one side of your face, you claim that neither side wants to fix the problem, then with the other side of your face, you claim your side does. Seems you don't want a solution so much as you enjoy partisan bickering.

No my side wants to fix the problem. I am quite clear on that

Except when you claim neither side does. Yep...crystal clear....

Nope. I don't want it "both ways". You are arguing a false equivalent.

Its why you cannot answer my questions.

Are you saying all gun background checks should be eliminated

Yes. They serve little purpose. Criminals get around it by either straw purchasing them or they weren't criminals at the time of purchase. Also lying on a 4473 is rarely prosecuted. In fact, background checks have done more in denying law abiding citizens rights than prevent criminals from buying guns. People with the same name as criminals have often been denied. A better way in my opinion to stop gun crimes is to harsely punish criminals with illegal guns and those who commit crimes with guns.

The GOP will never go for that

Killing 100 NRA members could possibly lead to changes in the gun laws, since the people affected would be the people that are the ones petitioning Congress not to do anything about the current gun laws. But, even if Congress did something what would they really be able to do?

Re: What if 100 NRA members were killed?

Yes, I do think this would change the average person's mind, since most people are against the Ku Klux Klan. But it would still bring up the topic of gun control once again since they are still people and having 100 people being murdered is never a good thing.
