Brazilian gun control failed miserably

I like how people from the left like to compare much smaller countries like Australia for statistics to the U.S. 4 out of 10 homes have firearms in the U.S. It's not going anywhere. It's an identifier.

Funny how the right likes to compare much poorer countries like Brazil for crime rates.

Yeah man I know, How dare we use examples of what can happen when anti-2nd amendment trash enact draconian gun control law. I mean it the nerve of some people showing that criminals don't give a rats ass about laws, especially laws saying they can't be armed.

So....Brazil said self defense wasn't a good reason because there were enough cops around to protect everyone. Gosh golly, that sure is swell news.

It sure would be nice if We had cops in the United States with an obligation to protect the civilians from criminals. Thank goodness for the Second Amendment.

Sure they do, look at Australia:

Guns were banned in 1996, gun murders went way down, and criminals switched to legal methods of murder.

Your average criminal doesn't fear your average civilian regardless.

There was a show on one of those "reality TV" stations like TruTV or what not. They interviewed a bunch of cons and ex-cons. Asked what they feared most when robbing a home.

The answer was the sound of someone racheting a 12 gauge shotgun.

The Tasmanian Opposition has renewed its calls for more funding to help police tackle major crime amid evidence of a rise in violent home invasions.

Police are still hunting for a gunman who bashed a Hobart father in a foiled invasion early on Wednesday morning.

The armed intruder broke into the house at Mount Rumney on Hobart's eastern shore and attacked the 65-year-old man, before fleeing when alarms were activated.

While police say it an isolated incident, the ABC can reveal at least four other homes in the Hobart area have been targeted in the past six months, at Battery Point, Mount Stuart, Lutana and Bridgewater.

OK. But what the OP posted remains bull****.

That's pretty much what I was addressing.

Actually, the OP is pretty close. From your link:

It was still a massive disarmament campaign, and you've presented no evidence that the crime rates cited in the OP are bogus.

Come on, prohibition WORKS, history is replete with proof. Here are some examples: prohibition, war on drugs, prostitution, ideologies etc.
