I want to know what the relationship between privacy rights, doctor patient privilege and the fact that most people who commit suicide are NOT people who are prohibited from owning a gun. that being felons, fugitives, illegal aliens, drug addicts, those under indictment, and most importantly THOSE ADJUDICATED mentally incompetent.

Among other things, yes. I'm not sure we have the moral right to tell someone that they can't take their own life. You evidently don't care about those legal gun owners, as you've stated your laws would be aimed at prohibited persons.

Do you understand that any doctor, nurse, social worker, MFT or cop can do a legal hold on a person NOW and detain them against their will?

I believe we have the moral DUTY to stop people from making a permanment decision over a temporary problem. This has become an epidemic among veterans. We owe them that in the very least

We can disagree on the right/duty belief, but how do you wish to help veterans? Prohibit their ownership of guns? Ropes and belts, too?

yes but its temporary and those people are wide open for a massive civil suit

I did it hundreds of time. Never sued once. All mental health restrictions are ALWAYS temporary and subject to judicial review.

that is my point. The huge majority of people who sell firearms or give firearms to felons are people who know or have a reasonable belief the buyer is a criminal.
