Gun sales appear to be slipping yet again after the Obama surge, with federal gun background checks dropping more than 20 percent last month — the biggest monthly percentage decline in more than three years.

With President Trump now firmly in office, the fear of new federal controls that could restrict ownership has faded, said Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Now, how does the NRA increase gun sales? That's the dirty secret they don't want you to find out about. They want guns in the hands of criminals. They want to increase the black market for guns and more and more unstable individuals with guns. They want more school shootings and violence. The more scared people are, that would increase sales of guns. The more violence, the more current gun owners cling on to their own guns and want to buy more.

A sad but real picture the pro-gun lobbyists want.

You want to seriously kill gun sales? Have the Democrats quit trying to put more gun control in place.
 
No. The NRA doesn't want more school shootings. Why do people always think the worst of those they disagree with.

Now, my guess is the leadership of the NRA might secretly, to an extent, prefer Democratic Presidents becasue they are good for business in the same way I think many liberal comedians, to an extent, like it when we have a Republican President because it gives them more material.

But nobody wants more dead kids.

If I was not already arm to the teeth then after watching the news concerning Trump merry supporters actions in VA I would go on one hell of a gun buying spree.

Maybe I should buy a few more shotgun shells come to think about it.

Your CT falls apart because the NRA, like most rational folks, saw the "Obama" gun sales increase as being due to fears of more gun control laws coming (which almost always contain 'grandfather' clauses) with demorats in control and a left leaning SCOTUS. Why wouldn't the NRA support more demorats if their intent was to drive up gun sales due to fear? ;)
 
The sad reality is the more gun laws and controls we put on guns the more they are valued. If anyone could buy an AK 47 for what it sells for out of Russia there would be no black market. For a black market or illegal sales to be worth while you need to make money on the product. Restricting who can buy is the best way to create the black market. We have seen it with drugs, alcohol, gambling. cigarettes, and guns.

Look at the price of marijuana selling for $300.00 an ounce. It is easier to grow than asparagus. Marijuana at most should sell for $10.00 a lb. and that would give the farmers a better mark up than any other product they grow. But our war on drugs has driven the price up to $3000.00 a pound. The more we crack down the more the price goes up and the more the price goes up the more people are willing to risk selling it illegally. Legalizing marijuana and selling it with the same restrictions as alcohol would end the black market over night and all the crime associated with it.

It's why I bought my Glock and built my AR-15 (and laid in a couple thousands rounds); the idea that Hillary would be elected and I'd never be able to indulge in my firearms interests, always at a safe, controlled range, i.e. Grand Father clause. You betcha.

In retrospect, had I know she'd have lost, I wouldn't have. I'd have waited a while longer.

At least until we have a president who will no longer given them a green light to crawl out of their holes.

Why not? These type of groups fuel crazy shooters that like to shoot up schools. A truly civilized culture doesn't need guns anyway.

When 5-10-year-old kids are getting shot because of lax gun laws, yes, I do have a problem with that.

The constitution says nothing about setting reasonable limitations to the right to bear arms. The United States has the most mass shootings in the world because we have the easiest access to guns compared to any other country.

Show the proof that the NRA wants criminals to have guns or that they want more school shootings. When you cant: Have a coke and a smile and shut the F*** up.

People are buying less guns because with Trump as President we are more optimistic about America's future. There is less threat that some destructive POS like Obama or Hillary is going to turn American into a 3rd world country with a dictatorship Govt.

Since Trump's election America also has the best economy in 10 years, the highest consumer and small business optimism in 16 years, and the lowest gas prices in 12 years. This is happening because Business leaders are reacting to Obama being gone and Trump repealing all of his executive orders.

The NRA is an extremist organization that wants to see people carrying a gun everywhere you go - grocery stores, coffee shops, playgrounds, etc...If we live our entire life afraid where everyone feels the need to have a gun, we are no longer living, but hiding in fear.

Oh? Any reasonable laws that restrict access to guns towards criminals have been blocked by the NRA. Why is that? Why is that?

All of these tests are common sense and reasonable before being able to purchase a gun. the NRA has blocked ANY reasonable/common sense laws restrictions saving lives.

It is common sense. A person should be able to pass some sort of aptitude test before being able to purchase a gun.
