Its Just a FORM nonsense

New California ?assault weapon? regs approved, lawsuits promised
Under the rules, those in the state who have firearms that meet the expanded definitions of an assault weapon will have until July 2018 to register their guns through the California Firearms Application Reporting System, with a mandatory $15 fee per registration. Those submitting applications will have to upload digital photos of the firearm including of the magazine release, of each side of the receiver and of the barrel. Hobbyists who craft their own firearms will have to apply for a serial number through the system before completing their gun.
However, the website for the system states the ability to register is not yet available.

This is what happens when you pretend that all those assholes in office want is "just a form" or just "reasonable laws"

hopefully some Trump judges squash this crap

remember criminals cannot be prosecuted for failing to follow these idiotic laws

So we don't like state's rights and local control now?

Ah, so depends upon whther you like what they do or not, got it. Principle on display.

When they violate the constitutional rights of citizens, I don't like it. that is my principle. The second amendment, like most of the rights guaranteed in the Bill of rights-was incorporated by the 14th. and the californian legislature craps all over that right. want to find some rights I support states violating? rights that are specifically guaranteed in the Bill of Rights? or that are expressed in the state constitution?

Simply unsupported opinion

If SCOTUS overruled states' rights for gay marriage and abortion, how can states' rights for gun control be upheld?

its amazing how many lefties believe that "rights" the courts managed to FIND are sacrosanct and cannot be violated by state government but a right that was clearly set forth in the Bill of Rights should be ignored or the guarantee so narrowly interpreted that it isn't guaranteed at all.

He's not going to win any points trying to pretend I don't support gay rights or abortion rights which is clearly the insinuation of his silly post

Do you know what a limited decision is?

It is my most pressing concern when it comes to gun violence

Then it's odd you don't take the problem seriously enough to actually discuss it. You are pretty disingenuous.

All I do is discuss it.

the stupid one liners like "its just a form" or "it makes people safer" is nothing more than silliness that establishes that serious discussion is not contemplated.

Fact still remains that firearms use in murder are acquired illegally! Laws that restrict access to firearms from people who are neither inclined nor determined to use them unlawfully accomplishes nothing!

That flies in the face of the facts when the great bulk of your mass shooters acquired their often multiple firearms quite legally

Holy **** this is the thread winner right here folks. There is no way any one can refute this chart.

No. You dodge or evade and sling one liners. You rarely, if ever, actually discuss, debate or defend your positions. Then you lament the lack of debate while denigrating in others your own behavior. Okey dokey pokey?

He seems to love to attack your nationality for some reason. LOL

Just as he directly attacks ours. His nationality is important as it is the basis for his point of view. He has grown up in a society which does not trust it's citizenry and treats them all as guilty until proven innocent and not just when it comes to firearms.

Refute in what way? What is the purpose of said chart? Has any evidence been given to support the numbers in that chart? Note that the weapons used in mass shootings according to data captured by Mother Jones include AR-15s, repeating shotguns, pistols, revolvers, bolt action hunting rifles and double barreled shotguns; pretty much every type of legal firearm that there is. In the UK's last mass shooting, the killer used a bolt action 22 rifle and a double barrel shotgun, also legally obtained, properly registered and with the owner properly licensed.

My point exactly. ;)

It's a pretty Excel file that means exactly nothing.

I wonder what their gun deaths are like

I don't really care. The point is that they have no rights. They are subject to the whims of panicky asshats and overbearing government. Now they have to have a reason to have a ****ing multi tool.

Murder had been around for thousands of years. Taking guns doesn't make it go away. They still have murder in prisons. All you do...even if you COULD magically snap your fingers and make all guns disappear...is make it so that only the strong or physically able can defend themselves.

The crowd is not the sum of its parts.

I am a republican who did not vote for Trump (Or Hillary).

You lock up five times more people per capita than we do yet still have five times the homicide rate

We have 5 times the population. ;)

And let's not forget that your nation arrests people based on suspicion rather than probable cause. Talk about a police state. What's next? Quartering? How about unreasonable search and seizures? Guilty until proven innocent? Don't you guys have hate speech laws? Talk about free speech. Lmao! How about you enact some laws that only government sanctioned press releases are ok? No free religion right?

I guess sometimes the risk with more freedom is that more people will abuse it. Not that you would understand. You aren't free.

I know you don't care. We have lots of freedom. The freedom to be shot

Therefore you would define your personal freedom by having the facility to kill more easily than I can....like I said

You try to define the freedom of honest people to be armed in such a silly way. We still wonder why the obsession over the rights people in a country you don't live in have
